Coach was a great tour guide, who provided us with lots of information both on the drive down and when we were driving around RI. The experience was marred by broken seats on the bus, which meant I had to sit in the wheel arch seat which is extremely comfortable on such a long drive

Impressive! Enjoyed seeing the mansions in Newport. Lucia was an excellent tour guide, full of information. Highly recommend this tour even though it was a long day.

Love the guide during our trip. He was very accommodating & shared lots of historical facts. Would definitely recommend!

We loved the Cliff Walk ! Also very much enjoyed the tour of The Breakers and the drive through town. There was sufficient time afterwards for a leisurely seafood lunch at a restaurant on the water and to do a little shopping in Newport. It was a lovely day and the only reason I gave the tour a 4☆ rating instead of 5☆ is because it was a long day and we got caught up in some traffic on the way back. Although we enjoyed the Marble House we felt that we had already experienced the grandeur of the area and the spectacular Breakers Mansion so the Marble house was somewhat redundant and far less awe inspiring than the Breakers. Had we skipped the Marble House and headed back to Boston we would have arrived a lot earlier and avoided the heavy traffic. That is the only change I would make.

Lucia is a joy. Overall it was an enjoyable trip. BUT the way they arrange the day is unbalanced. Rush rush rush through the mansions, then 3.5 hours of free time walking around town on our devices, which is waaayyyyy too long for auch a small place. Frankly I would rather reduce the free time to 2 or max 2.5 hours and add more time to the mansions. After all, the mansions is the MAIN REASON people take this tour, rite. I spoke to several other fellow travelers and they said the same thing. Too rush rush at the mansions we had to practically walk really really fast passing through the rooms without even taking pictures and no time to walk through the garden and enjoy the ocean scenery, which is glorious. But if you do not want to drive to Newport, take this tour. It's the most ok option that you have. Would I recommend it? Yes if you have no other option. If the mansions are the most important part to you, manage your expectation.

Lucia, the tour guide, provided much interesting information that enhanced the enjoyment of this trip. Downtown Newport had a number of dining options for lunch and was easy to get around thanks to the handy map.

The quintessential finale of our New England trip is here in Newport, Rhode Island, and the opulent mansions of the Vanderbilts! From the beauty of the sea, The Cliff Walk, The Breakers, and The Marble House, these breathtaking moments will be forever remembered! Our tour guide was "Coach" who made the trip informative, entertaining, and accommodating for everyone.

Bonnie_F

Great itinerary. Lucia, our tour guide, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour of the mansions and surrounding area was amazing!

Sally_B

Excellent tour of mansions in RI. I highly recommend Lucia as your tour guide. We toured twice with her and she was so knowledgeable and considerate about our time and gave us enough breaks along the route. Ask for Lucia on your next tour.

Ellie_S

A really great trip. Lucia, the guide and driver, was fantastic. Really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. And a good driver. She made everyone feel welcome by asking where they were from and had some great recommendations for where to eat and where to go. She deserves a huge bonus.
