Absolutely fabulous day out. The monorail is a great idea, can see more than ever. Very good Exhibits alot of thought gone into the animal enclosure s.

I’m a born and raised NYr. Loved the Bronx Zoo my entire life. From the time I was a small child and my working class parents brought me to now as a Grandma. Sorry Bronx Zoo, despite your beautiful improvements the zoo is to darn expensive for the average NYC family. First off the pricing is unfair. If one works and needs to come on a weekend we get penalized. That’s just BS and not fair. Parking $22.00!! Highway Robbery. On Wednesday the Zoo used to be FREE. Not any longer. I thought the Zoo was a non profit organization. I brought my 2 grandchildren, their parents and my husband. It was over $200!!

Had not been to the Zoo since I was a child. It was well kept, clean and very nice. The staff was also very nice.

Went on Memorial Day Weekend, OBVIOUSLY super busy! Kids had fun! It’s a beautiful zoo with the animal areas built into the existing landscape! Very shady and pleasant even on a warm day! Will be back!

It was a mistake I couldn’t get into the Bronx Zoo because I didn’t have a Bar code so they wouldn’t let me enter the Bronx Zoo li!!! So I traveled a wasted two hours going and two hours getting back home!!! My wasteful time and day out so I want a refund with extra $15.00 for my transportation expenses!!!!

My experience as a New Yorker with the Bronx Zoo is just OK. First off if you don't go on a FREE day (which is certainly not free). The price of almost $40.00 a person and about 30 for a child is ridiculously high. That means a family of 4 is spending about $140 before walking in the door. OH let's not forget the $22.00 parking fee. If you want to walk about 9 miles ( we literally walked 8.5 miles) and see almost nothing but a lot of greenery and birds, then this would be nice day. Most of the large animals are sleeping all the time because they get feed and go back to lay down. You also can't see a lot of the larger animals unless you go on the monorail. Feeding times are now only done once a day around 3pm. That was worth going to see. The penguin one was very nice. I have been to this zoo many times and things there are not chaning for the better. The feeding time at the sea lion exhibit was not informative at all. Basically a bunch of women come out with buckets and throw fish the animated sea lions. They do not tell you anything about the sea lions or what is going on. Very disappointed this time. As I have said this zoo is going down hill. Oh and I didn't mention that you don't even get a paper map or a paper feeding schedule for your 40 dollar ticket. This zoo is huge and you most certainly need one. The phone map is too small. If you want my opinion skip it and go the central park zoo in Manhattan, which is small and intimate and not nine miles of walking. The animals there are more animated and of course you have the rest of central park to explore. There is also the Prospect Zoo in Brooklyn, which is also small - I haven't been to that one. I was to the zoo in St Louis which was wonderful. And guess what it is absolutely free. Most things in St Louis are abosolutely free. It was the best trip we took when my son went to school there. My rating skip it unless you want 9 miles of exercise and want to spend $40 dollars a person to do it. Also, if you can take the train in, as we spent 1 1/2 hours in the Bronx traffic that doesn't move at all. Worse than Manhattan traffic. The trip should have taken 45 minutes. The worse traffic I have ever seen, another reason to skip it.

Excellent zoo very informative, beautiful surroundings. Well done people and animals ! If I get the chance I would go again

Nice to go with the kiddos. The walk is nice and you learn about the species at the zoo. The only tip I would suggest is to bring your own snacks and food .

Everything was amazing loved the gorillas involves alote of walking, but it a wonderful experience , thers food drinks , snacks to enjoy , many animals to see sometimes they hide overall everything was amazing

I had not been back to see the Bronx Zoo in over 40 years. It was a pleasant experience to see that it is still there, acres and acres of natural habitat for wild animals in the midst of a concrete jungle. We were told that admission is free on Wednesdays, we were there on a Thursday so we had to pay. Anyhow, we were fortunate to see tigers, leopards, gorillas, and even the lions. However, the lions were lounging about when we passed their enclosure and did not do much activity. The other animals, such as the tigers and the gorillas, walked around close to the glass so we could really see them in action. One particular pleasure was to see the pink flamingos. For some reason, a park worker came out and chased them away after a few minutes, an interesting sight. The park was not overly crowded, there were lots of children. Before we left, we were able to ride the carousel, there is no extra charge for doing that. To see the major sites within the Bronx Zoo takes a lot of walking but is, in my opinion, well worth it.
