The zoo was fantastic - would recommend for everyone! The bus to the zoo, however, was horrible. We were traveling from Gold Coast to the Australia Zoo. Instead of having two separate busses going to GC and Brisbane, they combine them which added an extra 1.5 hours to our travel time. It took 3.5 hours there and back due to rush hour traffic. Also the driver was in such a rush that it almost felt unsafe and he waited maybe 60 seconds at some of the stops so if you're even a bit late you'd have missed your ride.

The zoo was amazing. The journey was not great. We left from Gold Coast and were made to pick up people from Brisbane enroute which added to our travelling time to almost 3 hours. We did not get to stop on the way for wash rooms or breakfast. We left our hotel in Gold Coast at 6.30am and reached the zoo only at 10am. The driver was not friendly either.

Long bus ride but was definitely worth it to see the amazing Australia Zoo! Close up and personal experience with wildlife. Driver was prompt and did his best to get us there in a timely way despite all the traffic.

Late picking us up, dumped us off the bus far away from our hotel after the tour was over. The bus was 45 minutes late picking us up in Brisbane. The driver claimed he was late due to traffic. I’m from Los Angeles; Brisbane traffic is like driving on a country road. The zoo itself was terrific, even though our time was shortchanged due to the driver’s lateness. On the way back, instead of returning to Brisbane by the same route he left, the driver found a spot in downtown Brisbane across the river from where he picked us up, surrounded by skyscrapers so we could not get our bearings by comparing the location of the sun to the time in our watch, stopped the bus, stood up, and ordered the Brisbane passengers to get off the bus. I suppose I should be thankful that he didn’t toss us into the river or leave us by the side of the road somewhere along the way. Fortunately one of our iPhones still had enough power left after an afternoon taking pictures at the zoo. So with some difficulty, we determined our location in Google Maps and concocted a route through the Botanical Gardens and across the Goodwill Bridge. We are well accustomed to finding our way in unfamiliar surroundings, but the couple who was with us was not, and was hysterical during the trek back to the other side of the river. They barely spoke English and the walk back was strenuous for them. Judging by the other negative reviews of the transport, this is just how JPT intends to operate. Nevertheless the zoo itself was worthwhile; the staff there was pleasant and helpful. My favorite part was the birds who would try to steal our lunches. They were delightful!

Holding a Koala and feeding the Kangaroo’s! The Croc Show was awesome and we were lucky to see Robert Irwin!

A very long ride, over 3 hours each way without any toilet stop. The zoo itself was okay, just a typical zoo. Nothing worth spending an entire day for.

Buses need maintenance, driver needs some manners, they need to communicate more with the customers and between themselves

Steve_M

The bus drivers communication skills were severely lacking and the bus left the zoo 10 ministers earlier to departure time, leaving behind at least 6 guests…

You can't come to Queensland without visiting Australia Zoo. Unfortunately we were staying at Surfers Paradise so this entailed a 7 hour round trip but I still don't regret our visit to the zoo. If you are staying in Brisbane it's a n brainer. The zoo is excellent whilst there might not be as many animals as some zoos their accommodation is first class. Of course, the crocodile in the main display area is the main attraction but the flying birds demonstration before was the best we have ever seen. Recommended.

No toilet stop on route. 3.1/2 hour journey from Gold Coast and when we got to the zoo the toilets by the entrance were closed due to maintenance . Would suggest the Gold Coast pick up is direct without stops in Brisbane to speed up the journey time . The zoo was amazing but for the whole day the time on the bus added up to more than that was spent at the zoo
