Jamie was a great guide. Super knowledgeable and kept a very nice vibe for everyone. Even had to deal with a railroad closure and got us back with little bruising.

Jamie was engaging, respectful of the setting very knowledgeable and competent in getting us around. Excellent tour - highly recommend Jamie.

I rarely write any review but this is a must for me on my way to the airport. Jamie was simply amazing and explained the sensitive history to us in details with his patience and personal style. His knowledge of the third Reich is enormous and our group asked really good questions(kudos for all my groupmates), which kindled one sparkling concersation after another. I have done so many guided tours in the past and trust me this is something special. Also, as the only asian guy in the group, I feel super welcome in this group, which does not happen each time. So perfect experience and a perfect day.

I’ve travelled and done day trips to many places, and Jamie is without a doubt THE BEST tour guide I’ve ever had. His knowledge is astonishing. He made things come alive by explaining in beautiful detail what happened, when, how, and who was involved. His passion is obvious. I have to add that the weather was awful - and despite that he still made it a wonderful experience. FIVE STAR EXPERIENCE!! Thanks, Jamie.

I actually purchased this tour through Marriott and wasn’t sure what to expect. I felt a strong pull to participate in the tour while we were in Munich, though my husband did not want to go at all. After the tour, my husband was very glad that we went. I believe this to be an important part of keeping the horrific stories alive so all victims are not forgotten. We were the only group, as we took the early tour. We were blessed to have Jamie as our guide; he is reverent, knowledgeable, compassionate and sensitive. His discussion included the Dachau concentration camp and the operation, prisoners, events leading to the holocaust, propaganda (including being respectful and aware of not perpetuating propaganda with photos of the concentration camp). We learned so much and he welcomed questions, giving very thoughtful and intelligent answers. Since this time I have discussed this tour with many people, and as I recently discussed with a group of friends, I realized that I never wrote a review after we visited in October 2022. Though the tour evokes profound sadness, we believe that the education is very necessary for the memory of the victims and knowledge for the future.

I cannot say enough about Jamie’s tour. His passion for the subject is evident, yet he remains objective and thoughtful in how he sheds light on the human tragedy that occurred at Dachau. The extent of his subject knowledge is evident, and he welcomes all questions - philosophical, economic, strategic, social, etc. etc. and provides informed and graceful answers. I walked away from the experience very somber as was expected, but felt as though I gained a much deeper perspective and that is in many ways thanks to Jamie. Highly recommended.

Jamie was an incredible tour guide who not only understood the history and could set the experience of visiting Dachau in historical context, but who was also keenly aware of the present. He was sensitive to who was in our group and took time with each person’s questions. He took time to ensure our group was sensitive to what we photographed so as not to unknowingly perpetuate Nazi propaganda. He challenged the group to be thoughtful about the relationship between the past and the present and the responsibility each of us have to the warning “Never Again” etched on the memorial. 10/10 experience for our family!

A very moving tour that should be on everyone’s mind when they visit Munich. Our tour guide, Jamie, was excellent - he brought home the horrors of what occurred during the Nazi regime in a sensitive way, and his knowledge of the history of Dachau was impressive. I highly recommend this tour, including the 9am start - there weren’t many other visitors when we arrived, which made it easier to absorb everything. By the time we finished at 1pm it was getting pretty crowded.
