Rude and unhelpful man serving in this small museum at the top of a number of flights of stairs. Not disability friendly. Would not recommend because of the man’s awful attitude.

The museum isn’t really worth it. Is even more expensive than some of the museums from the Museums Island! It consists mostly on videos that you can easily find on the internet… It is also not so tourist friendly since there’s no audio guides for people from other countries. Even some of the texts are only in german.. Considering the museum is beside the Wall they should consider having more languages available… The elevator is only for staff use. For some disabled people it’s difficult to get upstairs like it was in our case. The only good thing was the staff that was super friendly and polite.

Quite interesting place. Informative to walk around for an hour and so and recall the events of the building of the wall and its ultimate fall. It's self guided. Some of the monitors were not working and so 4 stars.

I would definitely recommend a visit here. The exhibition takes you through the pre-wall, wall building, living through and the fall of the wall. It is extremely well put together. You need to take your time to listen to all the contributors. It was quite emotional and touching. I have not seen this material elsewhere. Outside you can see painted section of the wall but we just had a short look at that-the museum was more interesting to us. On the day we visited it was around 30 degrees and it was a bit hot inside. They did have some air conditioning on and windows open but there were a lot of screens heating it up and it was a bit toasty. Nonethless - we weren't put off and took our time to absorb it all. I cannot truly understand some of the less positive reviews because ultimately this is all accounts from individual people affected by many aspects of the wall.

While the museum ticket is affordable and displays a ton of information, it was quite simple. It is located in a walk-up building and mostly shows videos and texts with information about the topic (that you could frankly get on the internet).

This is near the large section of wall still standing, not by Checkout Charlie. It's really great but only in English /German, I think. Really gives a perspective on the impact of the wall on the German people. Great value for money. Includes lots of filmed footage & interviews with residents/soldiers of that time.

No introduktion to anything, only text all through the museum combined with pictures. Would have been better to read a book than go to this museum.

The best museum in Berlin! Very well done. Everything translated into English perfectly. The A/V what is technologically perfect. We would go back again. So much wonderful information. Very kind people run the museum. Plenty of chairs to sit on while absorbing all the information. By far and away the best museum in Berlin.

Small but very informative museum about the walls history, east vs west Germany events, and related iron curtain era events. Many videos to watch. Museum itself is a little hidden on the 2nd floor of a pirate themed building at the end of the east side (Berlin wall) gallery. The gallery itself is amazing, 1 km of maintained wall with variety of graffiti paintings. Imagine a whole city surrounded by a multi wall DMZ.

Excellent place to learn about the history of the wall. One criticism would be that the audio guide becomes quite disconnected from all the many pictures in the display . That said : it did not spoil it . Teenager feedback was slightly long and the hand held audio was a nuisance- it would be much better with headset . 36 Euros for family of 4 for one hour . Could easily spend longer but we had committed to the spy museum afterwards .
