I had a great time on the dogsled and reindeer tour! The guides were really nice, the lunch was yummy, and the dog sled ride was super fun. The dogs were adorable too!

The mushers were the real deal! They have won many races and they were so kind sharing their experience! It was so much fun. Waking around with Rory the Reindeer was educational and fun too. The whole experience was great!

Dogsledding great!! Only 3 reindeer. Don’t go expecting reindeer as a highlight. Nice place for lunch.

Borealis camp and service was really good. The view was good, staff was nice and the food at the restaurant was good. However, I reduce two stars because the experience was misleading and overstated the activity times. 1) Reindeer walk-> our reindeer walk was a basic short walk around the camp, and it was one small reindeer (with no antler), although we were a couple, we were grouped with others on the tour-> so basically six people took turns walking one reindeer. It was quite boring given that we had to share the experience and take turns and there was no forest walk. So really, it was more like a 15min walk at best, sharing the time, around the camp walkway. 2) Dogsled-> this was really awesome and fun. The dogs were great. But it was def not an hour long experience. It was about 15min of playing with the dogs and chit chat, and then really the ride was 10-15mins at most. So saying that it is an hour long ride is very misleading. If we had paid for a 30min ride, then thats more understandable. But we paid for 1 hour experience. For the price of $300 per person, its very expensive, given that you could just drive up there and book directly just for the dogsled, plus two person rode on one sled, so that makes it really expensive for one 15min dog sledding ride for two. Overall, it is a bummer, because we really enjoyed our dog sled ride, and wish they had done a better job of setting expectation, not over-charing and not overstating and underdelivering. I would have recommend Dogsled, but for the price, and the limited short time of actually sledding, it would seems there are better options out there.

My teens and I enjoyed our day trip to Borealis Basecamp! The activities were fun, very informative and in a small group setting.

What could have probably been a great day ended somewhat disappointing… the staff rely totally on their brochure to inform guest of “everything”… unfortunately not everything is in the brochure…overall cost of meals, hidden cost of “ transportation provided”, what and where to find the complimentary activities and how to access needed gear while you’re waiting for over 3 hours to dogsled and do the reindeer interaction…. There were smaller issues and after an extended conversation with a manager who seemed sincere in improving future experiences for out of state guest we felt our concerns were addressed.

We loved meeting the animals and learning about them and about dog mushing. Laura, Carl, and Cooper were very kind and knowledgeable.

I was looking forward to this tour cuz dog sledding for an hour is all what I want, plus reindeer walking. However, I spent 15 mins waiting for people who were late, 5 mins with 2 puppies, 15 mins listening to an old man Dave or David talking about every dog's name and relationship, and only spent less than 10 mins in "real" dog sledding. After the tour, I realize Dave probably cut a short path to the base, cuz another guy who was on another dog sledding at the same time came back later than I by 10 more mins. Reindeer walking was just fine. We walked with a reindeer in a super short path for around 40 mins, and five of us lead the reindeer for maybe 5 mins per one. Also, I still waited for other late people for 10 more mins. A shuttle bus picked me up at 10:15 am, while I was told I should be at the lobby by 9:25 am, I waited for nearly an hour. The tour costs 299. And honestly speaking, the camp should do better. Not recommend at all. You can find more worthy dog sledding in other providers.

The staff was amazing and worked to make sure everyone had a great time. I loved the sled dogs, and the musher was really knowledgeable and shared so much about their life and work. The reindeer were really cool and the walk was an absolutely gorgeous path through the woods. They have a very nice restaurant there and the grounds are simply stunning for a nature walk.

Interacting with the dogs, mushers, and reindeer. Only negative would be to make sure all guests are present for each event before starting, which might mean providing more time between scheduled events.
