St. Ives is small but totally packed with interest. The coast is very close - just a couple of minutes from the centre. The fish we had was SO good - a couple of places (the same people running both) We went to The Lizard because there is yet another brilliant fish restaurant - right at the tip - As Cornwall is quite small it is easy to get anywhere, so if the weather looks questionable you can go to the other coast. We often buy Christmas gifts in places where we stay as most interesting, quality shops have gone where we live & especially Cornwall has some really quality craft items. Our accommodation was the only thing that spoilt it for us - we were taking our dog & it was totally unsuitable - a second floor flat with no outside space - we had to force him back in each time we returned. So I would say - St. Ives - is a place just for humans. The amount of dogs when we were there was overwhelming.
