The Gendarmenmarkt is probably the most beautiful square in Berlin. The Huguenot immigrants brought numerous trades with them and had a significant influence on the development of fashion.
Mendelssohn-Remise
The Mendelssohn coach house and the exhibition tell the story of the Mendelssohns. The Mendelssohn Bank once stood here. It was one of over 400 private Jewish banks that still existed in Germany in 1935. Less than four years later there wasn't a single one left.
