The hostess was lovely. The food was appallingly bad as were the drinks. For the outrageous prices I expected better. The music was ok, the performers mediocre.

The setting was beautiful - perfectly timed with the sunset. The performers were fantastic! Highly recommend. Best thing we did on Maui.

Pros and Cons of the Feast at Mokapu Luau Pros: Amazing ambiance and stellar performances. The host was amazing, the music was fantastic, and the performances were beautiful and touching. Cons: This was not a "feast." If the event was titled - A Sweet Hawaiian Meal, I would have been satisfied. However, I was expecting a feast. I've been to Luaus before where it's all you can eat food, and the food is amazing. Here, the appetizers came out in bento box like cafeteria trays. Only one appetizer tasted good. The poke was bland. Overall, it set a really sad tone for the event. The whole table I ate at was quiet after the appetizers, not one happy face. The entrees were an improvement. The beef brisket and fish saved the day - both moist and tender. Unfortunately, my pork was extremely dry and so was my chicken. This course was more like a feast, and as I awaited dessert I thought the event was improving. When dessert came, boy was I disappointed. I thought I would at least get a slice of chocolate cake. Instead, these tiny desserts were put before us the size of bon bons. The pineapple upside down "cake" was not good. The chocolate "cake" was not good. It left me incredibly dissatisfied. Three tiny bon bons for dessert was certainly not a feast. Overall, the performance was excellent, service was great, and I hope they improve the food. I personally would not pay as much as I did for the food that I ate. Meh.

Amazing sunset. Excellent service and cuisine highlight an amazing experience. Must try while in Maui. Been to a few luas this is the best by far.

Amazing luau. We did this same one 4 years ago and it was amazing then hence why we returned! Nice and intimate and good is amazing

The fire at the end. The whole show was fantastic! The history and stories of the islands. Of course the Hawaiian music.

This Luau was just average in my opinion. The activities consisted of a picture, Hawaiian tattoos, and then a paint printing type of activity. The food was disappointing mostly. The performances were great and the MC was lovely. We stayed at the Andaz and could've easily just watch the Luau from our balcony or even while eating at one of the restaurants. I had been to the Paradise Cove Luau in Oahu, which was much better (so I had higher expectations).

So many reviews said the food was amazing. It was cold dry and nearly flavorless. Very disappointing. The server slung the food on the table like a VFW buffet. The Lu'au aimed to be cute (upscale?) with old Hawaii storytelling but I nearly fell asleep and most people were dining and talking during this show because the show is a dud. They need a new artistic director. The dancing was a lot of slow sleepy songs. The fire dancers were great toward the end. They gave out free leis and henna tattos which are nice. The photographers photos were disappointing as well --out of focus. I've been to the Old Lahaina Lu'au 25 years ago and that was fantastic. Great dancers and incredible drumming. Dynamic. Exciting. Great performance. If thats still around I recommend that.

Been to many lu’au in the past and this one was special. Beautiful, intimate setting and overall much more upscale than others I’ve been too. Would recommend.
