Your Itinerary

Doune Castle

We depart Edinburgh at 8am and make our way to Doune Castle (75min drive), otherwise known as Castle Leoch in the Outlander series or Winterfell in Game of Thrones. In real life, Doune Castle is a purpose-built 14th century military stronghold, and an impressive example of medieval Scottish architecture. Optional add-on, £14pp. Tickets available to purchase at tour check-in.

Admission Not Included

Tyndrum

We then make our way to the charming village of Tyndrum (70min drive), which lies at the southern edge of Rannoch Moor.

Kilchurn Castle

Marvel at the imposing ruins of Kilchurn Castle (20min drive). Known originally as the stronghold of Clan Campbell, today the castle sits peacefully by Loch Awe and is the perfect spot to pause and snap a few pics. Photo stop only.

Inveraray

Inveraray is perhaps best-known for Inveraray Jail, a former prison that is now a tourist attraction. Choose to take part in an optional tour there, and make the most of your lunch break by visiting the charming village itself which boasts gorgeous views of Loch Fyne.

Rest and be Thankful

On the return leg we stop at one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the world, coined the "Rest and Be Thankful". This is your last chance to soak up the mountains before we return to the city, so make sure to soak it all in.
