This tour was very interesting, although it felt like a lot of time on the bus and not as much time at the stops. But I don't know how it could be designed differently as there's a lot of ground to cover! The moonlight sanctionary was very cool to see the koala bears, the wombats, the kangaroos, the wallabies, the reptiles, and all the other animals. It reminded me of a big zoo, but some of the animals were able to walk around freely, which was kind of neat to see. There are certain times where you can see them feed the koala bears, although our bus did not stop during one of those times. You can also buy food to feed the wallabies, and I think some of the other animals. We had just done an Outback tour in Cairns a day or 2, before, and so saw most of these animals out in the wild, so it maybe was not as impressive to us as it would be to someone who hadn't just seen these animals out in the wild. I still think the animals are impressive!! We did not see koala's and wombats in the wild, so the stop was worth it for those alone. The others stops were pretty and scenic. The seals were very difficult to see if you did not have binoculars. The Penguin Parade was very neat!! The penguins were so cute wobbling from the water to their nests on land. You do sit and wait a while for the penguins. The best viewing is on the boardwalk as the penguins walk to their nests. I do recommend sitting on the bleachers to watch them come out of the water as well, because that was also pretty neat to see. After the 1st couple of groups of Penguins come out of the water a lot of the crowd of people leave and stand on the boardwalks. Be prepared for crowds!! It was a long day, but you get to see a lot of stuff.

It was a fun experience. We were picked up at 10am at the hotel promptly. Our driver was James. He was funny, knowledgeable, engaging and enthusiastic. He kept the pace flowing throughout the day. To be able to get close and fed the kangaroos definitely was a highlight of the trip. They were very tame animals. Then later the evening, we went to Phillip island to watch the penguin parade. These penguins are only 30 cm tall and weigh about 1 kilo. They were very cute and we watched them slowly walking back to their homes was another fun experience. My mom and I thoroughly enjoyed it. By the time we were dropped off, it was already 9pm. Definitely a fun and fulfilling day!! A highlight to wrap up our Melbourne trip.

Had a lovely chilled out day with Craig as our tour guide. We think he should narrate an audiobook for his next venture! The wildlife park was lovely and the day ran smoothly throughout. Thanks!
