Me and my husband had a great time on our hike. The description of the tour was accurate. We had more than enough snacks provided by the tour guide. It was chilly in the morning, so make sure to dress in layers. The views of the canyon were amazing!! The spot we chose for lunch by a lake was beautiful and secluded. The route we took was not crowded at all and you got to see so many of the different landscapes throughout Yellowstone, including thermal features and view of Hayden Valley. We also learned a lot about the geography of the canyon. Me and my husband are moderately fit and there were only a couple spots where it was a little treacherous but the pace of the hike was fine. I forget our tour guide's name, but he was very knowledgeable and clearly loves hiking in the area. Recommended if you want a nice hike and a variety of views without having to think about any of the navigating!

Did the Grand Canyon tour in August, Emily was the absolute best guide! The views were otherworldly , I think the hike was my favorite part of my trip to Yellowstone/Tetons. Emily knew the answer to any crazy question we could think of.

Too much fun! Great day out in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Guide was personable, knowledgeable, fun, and turned our group of "new friends" into a happy hiking family sharing this unique experience. Very safety oriented. Loved the safety info that was provided for the rare event of a bear encounter. Guide kept a good pace and plenty of stops to chat and use the "FacilaTree's." Enjoyed the snacks and "World Famous Turkey Sandwich." Great job Yellowstone Hiking & Kayaking Guides...the Irishman is happy!

This was a truly fantastic hike with Emily Jo who's knowledge was outstanding, the views from the canyon rim are simply breath taking. It was great to spend the day with Emily Jo and it gave us a really fantastic insight into the park, other areas to visit in the park and what could be seen at different times of the year. We were provided with a very tasty picnic lunch and sat on the edge of the canyon taking in the views and scenery whilst eating lunch. We couldn't recommend Yellowstone Hiking highly enough and will book again with Emily Jo when on our next visit to Yellowstone, thank you Emily Jo for your company and a great hike.

This was our second tour with Yellowstone Hiking Guides in three days. We were delighted to see our guide on this tour was Mark who was also our guide on the Lamar Valley Hike. This tour was exceptional providing great views of the upper and lower falls, looks deep into the canyon, hiking through wooded areas to a peaceful spot on Ribbon Lake for lunch, past hot springs and mudpots and finishing up overlooking Hayden Valley. In each of these areas our guide Mark provided lots of interesting facts and information. Highly recommend this tour.

I apologise in advance for the length of this review. If you want the short version, Yellowstone Hiking Guides is a fabulous company. They were very accommodating and my daughter and I had one of the BEST guided hikes! Look no further and book with them for any of the activities they provide! If you have time on your hands, please read this lengthy post and you'll learn why I'm such a big fan. We will definitely book with them for our next visit. My daughter and I were originally booked for the Lamar Valley Safari; however, I had the date wrong in my head and we schlepped out to the meet up point -- a 3 hour drive -- we were late and there was no one there to meet us. Thinking our guide had given up on us, we proceeded with a self guided hike. After our hike, it occured to me to check the dates. We had been on the road for a while, camping, and my concept of the calendar was a bit fuzzy. Sure enough, our hike was scheduled for the following day! Now, I completely accept all blame for this oversight; however, we didn't want to come back the next day. Did I mention the 3 hour drive? I thought, it couldn't hurt to call the company and ask to change our hike to the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone offering. Honestly, I didn't think my chances were good as it was very last minute. Cell service in the park is very spotty, so we knew we had make contact before returning to our campsite. I made the call and left a voice message. My daughter also called and left a message and we also emailed. We had to return to our campsite with no confirmation. Our plan was to go to the Canyon hike meetup point and see if we could join the hike. The next day, on our way to Canyon, we had a voice message from the company. They had changed our hike! We meet the guide and group and magically our name was on the list! I was so happy with their flexibility and understanding. That is great customer service! Needless to say, the Canyon hike is fabulous! The views of the canyon are glorious and can't be missed. What makes this hike special is the backcountry part. The diversity of the park is exceptional and uniquely highlighted on this loop. You will see forest, lakes, geothermal areas, a thermal lake, meadows, and wildlife. Our guide, Jacquie, confidently led our group with patience and expertise. We thoroughly enjoyed learning some park history along the way. We would never have ventured to these areas on our own. Thank you for reading this long review! All I can say is if you want a memorable activity during your visit to Yellowstone, you will not regret booking this hike with Yellowstone Hiking Guides.

Mark our guide was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable and humorous. He was very considerate of the our groups various ages and fitness levels. Seeing the beautiful upper and lower falls was worth the climb. And lunch next to Ribbon Lake should not be missed, very serene and peaceful.

We have the most amazing experience with nature in this place! Emily Joe was awesome as a guide and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone is just out of this world! We did the tour in 7 hours and enjoyed every minute! Love it!

We had a great hike and Emily was very fun and knowledgeable! My only complaint is that the instructions on where to meet them were not clear at all and there is no phone or internet service in the park so I printed the phone number to call them so I had a back up and they didn’t answer it for several tries. Finally reached someone and still struggled to find the coordinates to meet them because there is no gps service with no phone service. Fortunately they waited for us and all was great after that ! A map sent ahead of time with meeting directions would have helped.

This hike was a lot of fun and our guide, Emily Jo was phenomenal. This hike offers a little bit of everything and is an easy pace so really most skill levels could do it. We took breaks and we’re provided with a very cute lunch - Turkey & cheese sandwiches, snacks, fruit, and even dietary restrictions were accounted for. We were greeted in the morning with breakfast and coffee or tea. It was a quick hike and not very strenuous but it was exactly what we needed after a few days doing long trails. Absolutely would recommend if you’re coming to Yellowstone for the first time.
