Your Itinerary

Riddarholmen

Before diving into the Old Town, we use the island of Riddarholmen as our meeting and starting point. This island, together with the Old Town, is the oldest area of Stockholm and is home to the oldest building - the Riddarholmen Church, dating back to 1270.

Admission Not Included

Aifur

(Pass by)

The Viking Restaurant! A must-visit during your stay here. Throughout our tour we will be walking along the main shopping street of Västerlånggatan and point out where this very important restaurant is located.

Marten Trotzigs grand

We pass by the narrowest street in Stockholm - Mårten Trozig street (just about 90 cm wide!) - where people actually reside still to this day. This has become one of the more popular attractions in the Old Town.

Prastgatan

Prästgatan - the Priest street - was earlier divided into the German vs. Swedish Priest street. It was home to the executioner of Stockholm back in the days, and therefore played a central role in the so called "Hell Area" of the Old Town.

Stortorget

We stop at Stortorget, the main market square of the Old Town. Surrounded by historic buildings, we cover events such as the Stockholm blood bath and the German influences around the area. Facing the Nobel Prize museum, we talk about the founder of the dynamite- the Swede Alfred Nobel- and the importance of the Nobel celebrations every year.

Jarnpojken

The Iron Boy looking at the moon - the smallest statue in Stockholm! As he is located just in between Stortorget and the Royal Palace, we will naturally pay him a visit. Although Stockholm is considered the cashless society - remember to bring him some coins as it is considered luck.

Royal Palace

Our tour will of course include a stop at the Royal Palace where we talk about the monarchy in Sweden and our king, who is now the longest reigning monarch in Europe. Right next to the Palace we also get a great view of the lovely Stockholm Cathedral as well as the Governor's residence.
