Roberta was an outstanding ambassador for the city and its history. A very enjoyable time that included stops at a wonderful cafe for espresso and a second for wine and an elegant charcuterie board.

Cruise stop at Civitavecchia with Tui _ had previously visited Rome a number of times and did not fancy another 7 to 10 hour trip into the city so signed up with Incitur for their 10am Saturday 13th of April Historical walking Tour with food pitstops along the way. As advised we were met where the cruise shuttle buses drop off their customers who are venturing into town which is at the entrance to the port, our guide was Alex who was waiting for us and also for three friendly American couples who were cruising with Viking _ so 8 people on this tour and I believe you would not want more than ten people _ Alex was extremely friendly, funny and knowledgeable with factual information from Roman Times up to the present which include the 're building after both world war 1&2 I believe Alex also takes in part in a lot of archeology himself so knows his stuff. Not to spoil your adventure with the finer details of the pit stops but we had three stops along the way before being taken at the end of the tour to a smart diner for one of their food treasures _ I can only say I wish that I had not eaten so much along the way as I was not able to do the treasure justice _ many thanks to Alex and his employers who we met on the day _ Saturday was a good option as it was also Market Day.
