The tour was great. Our guide explained so much. I would highly recommend. You learn so much with a guide. Just make sure you have a hotel booked because Venice charges a tax if you are only coming for the day. Luckily for us our guide came to our rescue when they tried to get us.

There is a distinct lack of organisation and communication from the start. The narration on the boat is unintelligible due to poor sound system, little time on the islands to really enjoy them, and about 20 of the group were left stranded on Burano when the boat left without us, even though we were back before time at the drop off point. Had to arrange our own way back at extra expense. I phoned the company and they were clear that it was ‘our error’, despite a group of this size being missing with no apparent attempt to locate us. You can do the islands by public transport. You will have the same or better experience of the islands, it’s cheaper, and probably more reliable.

I originally booked a small group glass-blowing experience to make my own souvenier. But that got canceled the day before. Wah!😭 So I booked this as a last-minute alternative. It was okay. More time was spent on the boat getting to/from Murano & Burano than in the places themselves. All narrative on the boat was in Italian. There were no headsets. The glass-blowing demo was short but interesting. I bought a Murano glass vase I'm hoping will make it back to Colorado in one peice.

Great tour. Camilla was great. So kind and friendly. Burano was the best. The only problem was the tour went longer - for 5 hours. We were not dropped at original meeting point and it was raining and we needed to reach an international train, so we needed to pay and catch the tram back to kfc (train station).

Excellent trip. Guides were awesome and it was a lot of fun a great way to see and experience the glass factory and barone

The Murano/Burano Island trip is basically a boat ride which gives you a site seeing look at some of Venice from a waterside perspective. The actual island events were less than stella and merchandise grossly over priced from $30 shot glasses to $4 cookies. There was little to see for glass blowing although the craftsman thought highly of himself. You would be far better off hiring a taxi to drive you around Venice versus heading out to these islands.

Venice is a MUST see! Take the tours of Murano & Burano too...enjoy the ride to and from. Buy beautiful glass and delicate lace. Walk the streets like you live there. Be sure to have an iced limoncello!

Murano & Burano are amazing - could’ve stayed longer on both - but the trip itself was very disorganised. The guidance on where to join the boat was very vague. There was also supposed to be an audible guide but we couldn’t hear any of it due to the noise of the engine! It was pointed out to the guide that no-one could hear but nothing changed! When we disembarked at Murano there was no guidance on what time to rejoin the boat and no sign of anyone to ask when we got off. Fabulous islands but could benefit from much more organisation!

This is definitely a “you get what you pay for” excursion so manage your expectations. I read the reviews here before purchasing the tickets and I can see what alot of people were saying was happening. First, if you are leaving from the train station you will be leaving in a water taxi and you’ll be brought from the train station to the dock at city center. That is where you’ll board the boat where you’ll do most of the tour from. While on the water taxi, our guide did talk about some of the islands we passed so you get to hear more about the different islands if you leave from the train station. Second, folks were saying that the guide was hard to understand when repeating things in English. Her accent was a little strong so I could understand that perspective. She was surely impressive though as she spoke quite a few different languages. While on the boat she spoke in English, Spanish, Italian and French I believe. Third, you won’t be led around Burano and Murano. They showed us a glass blowing demonstration but I didn’t get to see it. I’m 4’9 and wasn’t about to fight other passengers to get to the front to be able to get in the front row. So I stood on a bench in the back and still couldn’t see. There was no organization or instruction about sitting anywhere so I didn’t even realize there were bleachers until we were leaving. Because I couldn’t see the glass blowing demonstration, I wasn’t pressed to buy glass from there. So I went out into Murano and found some shops to buy from. One of them is called Crazy 4 Glass and the style of the items in there were most eclectic than any of the other glass I saw. All this to say that the most guidance you get from the tour is some info about the islands that are around Venice and that you need to be back on the boat at a certain time. So make sure to manage your expectations about what you get with this tour. Fourth, if you are hungry by the time you get to Burano there is a restaurant that serves quickly called Restaurante Pizzeria Principe. I was seated, ate, went to the bathroom and paid all in 30 minutes or less. A last suggestion, if you get to the pick up spot and don’t see a boat, you can call the customer service number to ask for assistance. I was early but still called to make sure I knew what boat to look for. Some of the other reviews talk about how there’s no signage to let you know that the tour starts there. They ended up being left behind and I didn’t want that to happen to me. So I called to double check and I think others should feel comfortable calling too. This tour did what I needed it to do so it was worth it to me. But you aren’t getting the caliber of tour that Hop On Hop Off gives. It’s definitely like taking a boat cruise that stops for an hour in each places and offers up interesting facts about surrounding islands. An hour seems like enough time but I could have used another 30 minutes on each island. Hopefully this is helpful :)
