This is a nice break from the hustle of Miami. The pace is relaxed, the river is calm so it's appropriate even for novice kayakers. It's a fun way to see the city from a different perspective. Shout out to our guide Marco! Friendly, welcoming, he did a great job wrangling a full group of kayakers. And as an added bonus, if you play your cards right, he might just serenade you at the turnaround point!

Brilliant experience! Friendly and knowledgable hosts - really welcoming and accommodating. Great fun kayaking at night, seeing the city lights reflecting on the water. Highly recommend! I’ll be back next time I’m in Miami.

Sean and Ariana were wonderful! The kayaks are just regular double kayaks with a cheap strip of leds literally just thrown over them, the paddle boards don't have led lights. Definitely different than the misleading photos which was kind of a let down but that all didn't matter once we got on the water! It was a blast! Highly recommend this if you want to see the city from a unique perspective!

The tour and it's two guides were a highlight of my stay in Miami. Highly recommend. I had never tried a paddle board before, but Sean encouraged me and gave me confidence to try it, and I'm glad I did because it was a lot of fun and easier than I thought (I'd only ever kayaked and canoed). Paddling along the river with a small group of about 8 makes for a fun adventure as a parade of yachts with dancing partygoers sails by, shiny buildings glitter on the water, cars and trains pass overhead on bridges, drawbridges open and close, and people on the banks wave and say hello. At one point two tug boats and a container ship (!) sailed past us going the other way. It was exciting but importantly I never felt unsafe. At the end, with advice and cheering from the guides, I managed to stand up on the SUP instead of sitting or kneeling. Woohoo! Only constructive feedback is that the tour description should maybe say to meet the guides on the steps of the Scottish Rite Temple (maybe have a sign for the tour?) instead of look for a trailer with boats, since the trailer didn't end up getting parked at this location. I had to call and then they quickly came by for me, so not a big deal and of course it all worked out as a great night.

We were so excited about this tour but it was ruined by a rude guide (Ariana) - Marco was great and should’ve been the lead… We arrived 10mins early and easily spotted the sidewalk where we were directed to meet (lots of Kayaks and SUPs) - Marco welcomed us and pointed us to the “girl at the truck for check-in.” We navigated around all the kayaks and tree roots to reach the truck and saw a girl who was busy putting out more equipment - we waited by the back passenger door (which was open along with the front one) for her to make eye contact with us, when from the front passenger side another girl comes into our line of sight and rudely says “if you’re going to creep up behind somebody like that you should say something!” I was expecting more of a “welcome girls, thanks for joining the tour!” It immediately put us in a bad mood and Ariana only got ruder (to everyone, not just us) from there ;( She told us to “go across the street by the dock, that’s where we’ll launch from but be back here by 8 to get started.” We weren’t sure why she told us to cross the street when there was only 10mins to start time but I was so taken aback by her rudeness, I needed to walk away and hoped she would change her tune when everyone else arrived (I was giving her the grace that perhaps she was stressed with all the unpacking). It got worst when we returned and she told the group “be quiet, I’m talking now and you need to pay attention!” when clearly the folks who were talking had not noticed she was ready to give instructions. The instructions consisted of us carrying the very heavy kayaks across the street to the dock where the tour was beginning…something that was NEVER shared in this tour description. Also, the kayaks are NOT clear bottom as shown on the main photo for this tour. Once across the street at the docks, Ariana proceeds to give more instructions as most of us are wondering how we’re getting down to the water (there is no ramp, only a thin metal ladder down to a 6ft+ drop into a very busy river - all kinds of large water crafts are transiting from both directions - again, none of this is in the tour description! She proceeds to give brief instructions on how to paddle - if you were a first-timer her “tutorial” would not have inspired any confidence - and rudely states that “some of you don’t have headlights because you arrived late.” We arrived 10mins early and were not given said headlines - again, had to take a deep breath to calm my outrage at how she was treating people who paid good money to come out and have fun; my friend and I almost walked away at this point but a really nice couple from Ohio convinced us to stay. The logistics of getting into the water were less than optimal…it had to be done 1 kayak at the time at an average of 5-7mins each and we had to hug the wall to stay out of “traffic” Let me sprinkle in a positive: MARCO - he was kind and welcoming and fun - all the things you’d expect from this type of tour. He made sure to paddle up and down our large group to ensure everyone was doing ok while Ariana was with the other girl doing her own thing or yelling at people to “move closer to the wall, a boat it’s coming!” which was pretty much took place the entire time. Again, logistics of this tour are less than optimal: if you’re looking to get yelled at and spend your evening hugging walls hoping the wakes from the boats won’t tip you, then take this tour. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and skip it until they figure out better logistics. The night skyline view the description promises are dismal, the only 2 things that made this night bearable were our fellow travelers and Marco (who tried so hard to counteract Ariana’s rudeness). SoFlo Water Adventures: do your company’s reputation a favor and keep Ariana in backend operations, she’s got ZERO customer service skills. PS: in case you’re wondering, yes, you do have to carry your kayak back across the street at the end and climbing out of the river is just as long a process.

Great trip. Would do it again. The only negative comment is that the first 45 minutes of the trip is getting the kayaks ready. Overall, it was a great time, and I would recommend going.

Stephanie_R

Hosts were amazing!!!!!!!!!!! I was afraid & they took me out my comfort zone & made sure I had an amazing time! Recommend

Meghan_H

Had a great time. Sean and Allison were awesome! Kept us safe from all the yacht craziness and made sure we all had a great time. Would go again!!
