Iglesia y Convento La Merced

The Minor Basilica and Convent of Nuestra Señora de la Merced is a church located in Lima, Peru. It was designed in the Baroque style. The church was built under the supervision of Friar Miguel de Orenes in 1535. The Blessed Virgin Mary of Mercy (the patroness of the Peruvian Armed Forces) is venerated in the Basilica. The Mercedarians (who evangelized the region) helped to develop Lima by building many of the churches preserved today.

The change of the guard happend in here suppost to be everyday at midday but believe it change all the time, great place to see from outside but we are not going inside

The Basilica Cathedral of Lima, otherwise Lima Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in the Plaza Mayor of downtown Lima, Peru. Construction began in 1535 and completed in 1649. It is dedicated to St John, Apostle and Evangelist.

Museo Convento San Francisco y Catacumbas

Before going to be back, we also will go to visit one of the HIGHLIGHTS! of Lima city which is the San Francisco Convent! but not only that we also will take you to visit its inside CATACOMBS which says a lot about the culture and traditions of local sliving in Lima city during the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries colonial time. we think this is one of the attractions who will make your tour and visit Memorable!
