Tour 14 Option: The Hidden Gems of Roman Londinium Walking Tour: It's hard to imagine today, but before the Romans arrived in Britain there was no London! The City of London is built on top of original Roman streets, and the archaeology of Londinium can still be seen if you look carefully around the concrete. In this tour I will take you around the old Roman city, from the original fort wall in the West by St Paul's and the Barbican, down to the amphitheater where early Londoners watched gladiatorial fights, to the Temple of Mithras and the original London Bridge, finishing at the beating heart of Londinium - its huge Roman forum, still a marketplace today. I would love to show you how the city grew up under Roman rule, how people lived their lives, and tell the stories of Roman conquest and rule through to the eventual collapse of Roman Britain.
