We pre booked our tour and were very excited to go. The pilot Andy was excellent but we did not experience the full benefit of the tour due to our assigned seats. We were assigned to the back corner seats on the opposite side of the pilot. I had seat 6 and could not see anything that Andy was talking about. There was a large man and his wife that were assigned the front seats with Andy and I’m sure their experience felt like a private tour. They saw everything that Andy saw, when he was describing it. They had an on going conversation throughout the tour. Unfortunately my view was completely blocked, other than what I could see from the back right. The pilot sat on the front left. Andy did attempt to look back a couple of times during and even circled back once so I could see the elephant rock. Other than that, I tried to see what I could, but it was well after Andy and others saw it and i was never sure I was even seeing what he previously described. My suggestion is, unless you can be preassigned the front two seats beside the pilot, it is not worth the hefty price tag. I’m sure it would have been thrilling from those seats. When we returned from the tour, we tried to purchase the tour video. We waited for about 30 minutes for the receptionist to charge everyone and copy the video on to a flash drive. We could not wait any longer as we were lucky to get reservations at Mama’s Fish House (the highlight of the day and of our trip to Maui). We left without the video.

If you are on the fence about doing this...GO FOR IT! Andy was a incredible pilot and made sure everyone on board had a great time and that everyone got to see everything that he was pointing out. We were lucky enough to see several whales along the way and one of the biggest manta rays I've ever seen. It was such a great experience and we were able to see so much of the islands! It is a must when coming to Maui! It was my first time in a helicopter and it was incredibly smooth! Can't wait to come back and try one of the other tours!

My favorite experience in my recent visit to Maui was going up with Sunshine Helicopters! First, they gave us the best bid. Second, when we could not continue a flight after viewing the crater, they offered a full refund or another flight. We took another flight, which became longer than the 45 minutes promised. Third, that flight was my best helicopter experience ever: we saw whales, ancient fishing pools at the Molokai reef shelf, the site of Father Damien’s leper colony from a distance, magnificent waterfalls, verdant cliffs jabbing from a thousand feet into the sea, and settlements on Molokai and Maui. I’ll never forget it!

This was our first helicopter tour. It was the high point of our trip to Maui. Everything felt very safe and comfortable. Spencer, the pilot, was great and gave us information about what we were seeing. He also made sure people on both sides could see the whales and waterfalls. I would recommend Sunshine Helicopters to anyone.

Absolutely top drawer. Spencer was a terrific guide and pilot. We thought the helicopter ride was the highlight of our vacation. For the rest of our time on Maui, we would refer to that ride when discussing parts of the island. I highly recommend people get to Maui this year and experience it themselves.

Spectacular views, a must-do in Maui. Safe and informative pilot. One star less for rescheduling the day and time at last minute.

Jen, LeAnne and Spencer ( pilot and tour guide) thank you for an amazing time! First class tour for adults and kids! We loved it. The views were stunning. Come to Maui! Support Maui!!! Within top 5 of our travel experiences!

I really enjoyed the trip with Drew our pilot. There were 6 of us plus the pilot in the air conditioned chopper, so it was a bit cramped and tight. The views and stories were so worth the cost. Seeing Maui and Molokai from the air was just spectacular. Access to hidden mountain ravines was so cool. The parking fee is supposed to be $5 for two hours, but the kiosk doesn’t work properly. I couldn’t read the faded prompts on that machine and the buttons were broken. I had to call the Assistance number, but the woman on the line was of little help.

This was a great ride to see the other island, Molokai. Our pilot, Christina, was great and provided a lot of information on all the islands of Hawaii. I would recommend this trip to anyone.

The trip happened right after the Lahaina fires and we couldn’t go around the West Maui on our tour. Yet, the Sunshine Helicopter people were very accommodating and asked if we want to rebook the trip for free to another day or if we are ok with a shorter trip. We agreed to continue with our trip as it was and we didn’t regret it at all. The viewer were very interesting from up above and the ride was so smooth that it felt like we were just gliding on a magic carpet.
