Lake Wakatipu

(Pass by)

Shaped like a lightening blot, Lake Wakatipu is New Zealand's third largest lake. You will be able to see views of the lake as you depart Queenstown.

Mirror Lakes Walk

Described by Rudyard Kipling as the 'eighth wonder of the world', Milford Sound was carved by glaciers during the ice ages. Milford Sound is breathtaking in any weather. Cliffs rise high into the air from the dark waters, mountain peaks scrape the sky and waterfalls cascade downwards, some as high as 1000 metres. When it rains in Milford Sound (and it often does) those waterfalls multiply with magnificent effect. See the mirror lakes of Earl Mountains

Homer Tunnel

This is weather dependent, photo stop of valley tunnel

Monkey Creek

A chance to fill up your water bottles with incredibly fresh Glacier feed water

Milford Sound

Discover this remote and beautiful Fiord with a day tour and cruise Including Lunch. The pristine Milford Sound is part of the World Heritage Fiordland National Park, in the south west of the South Island, and is famed for its remote atmosphere and rugged beauty. It is New Zealand’s best known fiord and the only one that can be reached by road. Maori are believed to have discovered Milford Sound more than 1,000 years ago, returning seasonally to collect the prized pounamu (greenstone). In the early 1800s John Grono was the first European settler to land in the sound, which he named after Milford Haven in Wales.

Once in a lifetime. I love the dolphins Would do it again, but the bus travels back was long & cold.

Our tour to Milford sound was way better then we thought😊The driver Salindra was very informative and was doing very safe driving. Can not wait to come back again😊

Was a great trip. Our driver Shalindra provided informative commentary with entertainment in between. The stops on the way up were great, and the cruise was amazing. It’s a long day but absolutely worth doing. Unfortunately the heating on the bus broke and it got quite cold, so pack extra layers incase similar happens, but the driver was great and did everything he could to make the trip comfortable.

We had a picture perfect day despite the wintertime visit -- Adrian was an awesome driver and tour guide and our cruise was wonderful.

Great Sites are terrible communicators. Stood out in the rain for 30 minutes waiting for a bus because there was no communication of if and when I was being picked up at my requested hotel. Then I was not dropped off where I was picked up. I was to have a gluten free lunch and did not. The driver argued with me that I was being picked up in the wrong place. Even though I had confirmation that I was picked up there. (All be it I didn’t get that confirmation until 7:15 AM since communication was terrible) The bus had no bathroom on it and it was NOT their bus as stated by them it was out sourced. It was a commuter bus. The bus driver did not stick to the time schedule as indicated, and we ended up skipping sightseeing spots because passengers were late coming back and he did not leave without them as he said he would. The people on the tour were very rude and were talking very loud, screaming on the ride while driver was trying to speak. They did that on the boat as well. I don’t blame the tour company for that just that they should have made an announcement to please quiet down so people could listen if they so chose. The boat ride within Milford sound was fantastic. The staff on the boat were so nice. The boat trip in the sound is worthwhile. I just wish I had driven myself out there and back since everything that the company did was subpar and a waste of money. Find a real company not someone who’s going to outsource to the cheapest bidder.

Just an enjoyable cruise with spectacular and breath-taking views. The air is so fresh, so rejuvenating!

the bus trip had a very early start however i realise this was necessary the seats on the bus were uncomfortable and actually not big enough to make a comfortable seat for such a long journey. The NZ country lunch was disappointing there was not enough to drink and bottle of water would have been better than the 50 ml box of cheap fruit drink. NZ has way better produce to present to tourists. A nice slice of fruit cake or traditional NZ treat something that symbolises our great country, the sandwich was OKay. The views and boat ride were amazing and well worth all the other inconveniences

Tamara_K

Amazing sights and we were lucky the weather cooperated and it was all sunny. The lunch included was good but be aware it was only a sandwich with a cookie and a mini juice box.

Our driver Adrian had skills and was a real comedian with some of the comments he dropped while he was driving. We stopped in plenty of spots for photos and mirror lakes stood out for us. The cruise itself was awesome with breath taking views and good commentary. I'd suggest taking a change of clothes if you want some photos of getting wet by the waterfall. An added bonus of the dolphins coming to play on the way out and in was really cool too. Lunch was a chicken sandwich, apple, cookie and a cute little juice box. It was enough for us, but there is food, coffee and beers for sale on the boat. It's a full day trip which sees you out at 7.20am and dropped off at 8.20pm depending on the road traffic and conditions

The bus trip was great our guide Stu was brilliant so informative, even though it wasn’t the best weather ( raining and cold ) I think this made our experience even better with so many waterfalls .
