What to expect
Mornington Peninsula
Tour the beautiful Mornington Peninsula with your own private group. See the stunning coastline, historical townships, spectacular national parks, trendy cafes, and the views from the peninsula's highest peak. Walk along the beach, drive through vineyard country, stroll through the cosmopolitan local streets, and capture a million photo opportunities. The tour is designed so travelers may avoid the crowds and experience the peninsula most scenic attractions in the comfort of a private car.
Mornington
The first stop will be the bustling historical township of Mornington. Visit the beautiful fishing harbour and local pier, walk down vibrant Main street, and stop for a coffee break.
Dromana
Following the scenic coastal road through Mt. Martha and Safety Beach. Colorful bathing boxes line the foreshore in these seaside towns where the mountains meet the sea.
Arthurs Seat State Park
Leaving the coast and heading inland into winery country. Arrive at Arthurs Seat, the highest point on the peninsula, where the views span across Port Phillip Bay to Melbourne.
Sorrento Front Beach
The next stop is Sorrento, home to Victoria's first European settlement. Sorrento is a picturesque town, featuring stunning homesteads, historical buildings, the ferry terminal, and beautiful cafes and beaches. Lunch will be in one of the many Sorrento eateries.
Point Nepean National Park
Point Nepean National Park, surrounded by rugged coastline, is the location of the old quarantine buildings, the army barracks, and Cheviot Beach, where an Australian prime minister drowned.
Portsea Back Beach
View the spectacular Portsea back beach from the cliff tops. A beautiful backdrop for photos, with views across the pounding surf, dangerous rips, and dozens of reefs. This is the coastline where Australian prime minister, Harold Holt, disappeared in 1967.
Millionaires Walk
Make sure you have your walking shoes for this visually stunning, cliff top walk between Sorrento and Portsea. Take this short undulating track between the summer mansions of Melbourne’s A-list and their private jetties below, while overlooking the breathtaking water views across Port Phillip Bay. The walk is only 1.5 kilometers return.
Portsea
Stop for a coffee or wine break at the famous Portsea Hotel. Established in 1876, this gorgeous waterfront pub is one of the Peninsula's best.
Dromana
The Mornington Peninsula's famous bathing boxes have always attracted photographers. The afternoon sunlight is usually the best time to snap some photos of these colourful beach huts, and the backdrop of red cliffs, and rich yellow sand.
