Great way to learn a little history and who doesn’t like a taste at a few restaurants. We were meeting for a friend reunion so able to talk with one another.

This was a wonderful food tour! Terry was a fun and knowledgeable guide who took us to 4 restaurants and shared some interesting history as we walked. My sister and I grew up in the Mt. Vernon area and recalled our first jobs in Old Town a few yrs (okay....decades) ago. The changes have been amazing and we learned something we hadn't known about our HS 'stomping' grounds. The restaurant selections reflected cuisines from several cultures and were creations from small proprietors (not chain restaurants). I recommend this tour both for those visiting the area and for those of us who call this area home and are looking to rediscover our backyard. All food was well prepared and servings were appropriate for a walking tour. We shared the adventure with a wonderful couple visiting the area, and this tour as a small group with some really good people and great guide was a really great experience!

Our guide, Terry, was quite knowledgeable and his appreciation for the history, people, and culture of Alexandria was palpable. This tour was part of a surprise trip to Alexandria for my husband. We have talked about taking a walking food tour for years in other cities and finally did it in Alexandria! It was an awesome experience and something I would highly recommend. We were so full by the end of the tour that we had to get our dessert to go! But what a delicious late night snack it was when we finally ate it! This was well worth the cost and a wonderful experience.

My husband and I have talked about taking a walking food tour for years but for one reason or another, never did. I booked a surprise trip to Alexandria for my husband's birthday and included this tour in our itinerary. It was wonderful! The tour guide, Terry, was very knowledgeable about the local history and restaurants and you could tell he really enjoyed educating visitors and leading us on a guided tour of all that is wonderful about Alexandria. The food was amazing, although I will admit that there was one restaurant I'm not sure I would go back to. It's not because it wasn't good. It just isn't something I would seek out to eat. This is because of my personal preferences, not the quality of the food. I would highly recommend this tour, particularly if you're interested in Virginia history and have an appreciation for the simple beauty and charm of this city. We were so full by the end of the tour that we had to get our dessert to go! It was well worth the cost.

Terry, our guide, was very knowledgeable. It was interesting, but I would focus the tour more on foods that are local.

We had a great time on this tour. The restaurant choices were wonderful, with great food selections and very generous portions. In addition, the sites we stopped at and history of Alexandria were interesting and informative. Our seasoned guide Lynn did a fabulous job managing the tour and seamlessly coordinating with each restaurant. I also greatly appreciated how easily they accommodated my vegan diet. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Old Town!

Our tour guide Lynn was very knowledgeable of the area and we had a great time. The restaurants we went to had great food; Italian, Mediterranean, Mexican - it was a good overall taste of what Old Town had to offer. We finished up exactly at the time estimated and were very full at the end! Thank you for this great experience.

We have done many food tours around the country as we visit new places and this was the worst tour we have been on. Food tours need two parts to excel, the food and the tour guide. Both were lacking here. The tour page lists 6 example stops and says the tour will last 3 - 3.5 hours. Our tour stopped at 3 restaurants and took 4.5 hours. At the Lebanese restaurant, food was served family style but there was not enough food for everyone to get a taste of most of the "dishes". I don't know if it is because we were so late or if the arrangements weren't confirmed, but the final stop didn't know we were coming and had to scramble to get the space arranged and make the food. We have never left a food tour hungry but we were starving after this one. Oh, and the "indigenous dessert" was the guide picking up cupcakes and bringing them to the 3rd restaurant. Then for the guide. She was neither neither a good story teller nor at all interested in the food/restaurants visited. We got several long lectures on the points of Virginia history that seemed to interest her or tie to her time working for a senator, which may have worked on a history/politics tour, but not so much on a food tour. When asked for a restaurant recommendation for later, the response was rude.

Learning about The Spite House and a great tour guide Terry. Went to 3 restaurants and the blackberry margaritas was fabulous.
