Cascais
2 hours of free time planned in Cascais. A former fishing town, it was transformed by the Portuguese nobility into a summer resort with its sumptuous villas and extravagant places. Cascais is a very charming little town where you can enjoy pretty beaches, parks and lively little streets.
Casa da Guia
La Casa da Guia is currently a reference in the municipality of Cascais and has become a real meeting point with family or friends, thanks to a unique and different concept of commerce, culture and leisure. At the exit of Cascais, on the road to Guincho, Casa da Guia is located in a 19th century mansion, totally rehabilitated by the architect Cláudio Wanderley, surrounded by two hectares of gardens perched on the cliff, extending to at the Lighthouse of Guia and dominating the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean. Inside, we discover an innovative commercial concept with various shops and an art gallery. Outside, there is an excellent area for restaurants, commerce, culture and leisure, where restaurants, terraces and an amphitheater are perfect viewpoints from which to enjoy a magnificent view of the sea.
Cabo da Roca
Cabo da Roca is a wild cape that lies at the westernmost point of continental Europe. This place made up of cliffs hammered by the winds and arid lands was once (until the 14th century) considered the end of the world. It is the ideal place for people who appreciate nature, with on one side the expanse of water that seems infinite and on the other the mountains of the Sintra-Cascais natural park.
Boca do Inferno
This "mouth of hell" is a chasm that has amazed and terrified visitors since the earliest times. The ocean, by dint of often violent comings and goings, has dug the rock, forming a "jaw of stone" in which an infernal soup bubbles.
Praia do Guincho
Magnificent beach set in the spectacular landscape of the Serra de Sintra hills. Always exposed to strong winds, it is famous for its huge waves, summer and winter alike. It is therefore a paradise for experienced surfers. At the southern end of the beach is the yellow-painted fort of Fortaleza do Guincho, which has been transformed into a 5* hotel with its outdoor swimming pool built around an old fort.
