Your Itinerary

Potsdam

The historical center of Potsdam is a vibrant area that showcases the city's rich past with its beautiful baroque buildings, charming streets, and lively market squares. It's a perfect starting point to immerse oneself in Potsdam's history and architectural beauty.

Dutch Quarter

The Dutch Quarter, with its red brick buildings, is a unique architectural ensemble outside the Netherlands, built in the 18th century to attract Dutch craftsmen. Its lively atmosphere is enriched by cafes, galleries, and shops, offering a taste of Dutch culture in the heart of Potsdam.

Sanssouci Palace

Sanssouci, meaning "without concern," was Frederick the Great's summer palace, renowned for its Rococo architecture and beautifully landscaped gardens. The palace and its terraced vineyards reflect the king's desire for a private haven, while the expansive park features numerous buildings, each with its own charm and history.

New Garden

The New Garden is a vast landscape park on the shores of the Heiliger See and the Jungfernsee, housing the Marble Palace and Cecilienhof, where the Potsdam Conference took place in 1945. It's a serene spot that contrasts the formal design of Sanssouci with a more naturalistic English style.

Cecilienhof

Cecilienhof Palace is where Truman, Stalin, and Churchill concluded the Potsdam Agreement in 1945, shaping the post-World War II order. The Tudor-style palace is now a museum and a memorial to this historic event, offering insights into the decisions made that have had a lasting impact on modern history.

Marmorpalais

The Marble Palace, situated in the New Garden, is a fine example of early Neoclassical architecture. Overlooking the Heiliger See, it was another of Frederick William II's residences, celebrated for its elegant marble interiors and the beautiful views it offers.

Glienicke Bridge

The Glienicke Bridge, known as the "Bridge of Spies," became famous during the Cold War as a site for the exchange of captured spies between the East and the West. It spans the Havel River, marking a literal and symbolic threshold between two worlds.

We had Quincy guide us through Postdam in this tour and show us all the amazing buildings and also tell us a ton of interesting facts. He managed to make a six hours tour feel short. Thanks Quincy!

The trip to Potsdam from Berlin was absolutely worth it! Marc's wit and humor delighted us all the way. He simply couldn't stop a masterful flow of history, genealogy, and architecture knowledge. German 18th and 19th century aristochracy was a complex mix of visionaries, lunatics, and technocrats. Marc made us feel the urge to learn more about them and their world. Excellent tour! PD: I spent all night on wikipedia reading about it!

The tour of Posdam was very interesting because of the city, its palaces and the historical facts that Marc explained to us so well. I left town having had a good time and knowing a few more things.
