Your Itinerary

Jogashima Island

Jogashima Island, located at the southernmost tip of the peninsula closest to Tokyo, has been awarded two stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japan. We can drive across a bridge to the island and begin our hike along its stunning rocky coastline, where you can sharpen your senses and experience a sense of freedom. The guide will also share the island's history and local beliefs during the hike. Towards the end of the hike, you'll have some free time at a rocky inlet. Here, on the edge of a small island in Japan, listen to the waves and feel the breeze as you can release your daily stress and pressure. After the free time, enjoy a cup of Sencha (Japanese green tea) prepared by the guide. Sencha is a unique Japanese tea culture created so that everyone, regardless of status or wealth, can experience Zen through tea.

Misaki Port

After the hike, we'll take a ferry from Jogashima to the opposite shore at Misaki Port (weather permitting; otherwise, we'll travel by car). Misaki is a long-renowned port and a scenic spot visited by literary figures and dignitaries. We'll embark on a walking tour to catch glimpses of the lives and faith of the people who live by the sea. The guide will show you charming alleys, beloved local shops, and market eateries that only locals know about. The guide will recommend you restaurants loved by locals in this port town (or Jogashima, depending on the situation). Enjoy a delicious and affordable lunch!
