What to expect
This beautiful Palace was commissioned by King Frederic I for his wife in 1800. Frederic II added the wings left and right.
The Olympic Stadium was built for the Games in 1936. This is where Jesse Owen won his many Gold Medals. Today there are Sport Events and sometimes concerts. Take a picture underneath the famous rings.
Grunewald Forest
We will take the "scenic route" from Berlin to Potsdam so you will see how much green there is, how many lakes and canals there are. You will pass the Grunewald Tower and Wannsee. If you like, you can make a stop at the Wannsee Villa, site of the infamous Conference in 1942.
Please note that the House is closed on mondays. All other days you can enter the house, if you like, and see where the conference took place.
Alexandrowka
13 houses built for Russian prisoners, then members of the Russian choir, remain in this unique settlement from the early 19th century.
This is the last palace the Hohenzollern built. After the War, the Potsdam Conference took place here in 1945 which ended the war and divided Germany and Berlin in different sectors. If you want, visit the Museum with audio guides. Closed on Mondays. Closes for several years (!) after November 2024!
The old Town of Potsdam was unfortunately hit by bombs in the second World War. However, much of the Baroque town remained unscathed. There are some 200 buildings from the 1740s which remain and also the Old Dutch Quarter has been restored. You will drive through this beautiful section of Potsdam and have the opportunity to take pictures or stop for coffee or lunch.
Sanssouci Palace is famous because of the view from the fountain. Therefore your guide will take you down the vineyards so you can enjoy this becautiful view. Also see where Frederic II is buried (next to his dogs). Enjoy a wonderful stroll through the park.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
