What an awesome day!! My husband and I were on a week long road trip and planned to be in Vernal, Utah on my husband’s 47th birthday. I was searching for something special to do and came across Rhodes Off Road Adventures. Being from northeast Pennsylvania, I could tell that this off road adventure would be a unique and exciting opportunity. It truly exceeded my expectations in every capacity. I’m a nervous mountain driver and rider, but reading everyone’s wonderful reviews of Robert calmed my nerves and I knew we’d be in good hands. He really knows how to maneuver the jeep up rock ledges and in areas you’d never think is possible! The landscape was beautiful from the Moonshine Arch, the petroglyphs, all of the trails, and the view of it all from the top. It was fun, exciting, and thrilling and my husband was in his glory. I’m so thankful we had a once in a life time experience and so thankful for Robert and his kindness, knowledge sharing, and for making my husband’s 47th birthday a day we’ll never forget!

As you can see in the reviews above, to a group, Robert did not disappoint. We spent four days with our grandson celebrating his 10th Birthday. We started by floating the Green River introducing Riley to Fly Fishing then headed to Dinosaur National Monument. The highlight of Riley’s trip was spending a day exploring the area by Jeep. Robert knows the area like the back of his hand. We saw Petroglyphs and some of the most spectacular scenery, including Moonshine Arch, I’ve ever seen. Rock-crawling was a new experience for all of us and we all happily bounced along as Robert climbed the steep rocks. At the end of our tour, Robert returned us to our hotel. My husband and I shook his hand but Riley ran up and gave him a huge hug. This was a shared experience the three of us will never forget. I highly recommend spending a day with Robert!

It you are in the Vernal, UT area, GO ON A TRIP WITH ROBERT! We are in our early 70's and had never been rock-crawling. We also wanted to experience Moonshine Arch, so Robert tailored our morning to include what was important to us. He is not only a skilled jeep driver, giving us thrilling adventures, but also a wonderful tour guide, friendly and encouraging. We did not think we would be able to climb to the top of the arch, but he was so positive and showed us exactly what to do, and we were successful. During the rock-crawling we were amazed, laughed a lot, and were awed by the inclines and descents that Robert put his jeep through. We had so much fun!

John Rhodes is a one-man show offering an extraordinary experience. He knows Vernal and the area extremely well, and he readily customizes the tour to your time and budget available. Me and my three buddies had just finished a 4-day raft trip and finished our experience with a jeep trip with John to the big arch and then rock crawling. John's a grand tour guide, telling you about the sights, history and economy of the area. The rock crawling was unbelievable....I didn't know a vehicle could climb a 60 degree angle!

Off roading with Robert was the highlight of our trip to Vernal. Robert is a truly professional off road driver. He sets up tails for other off roaders. We started out early (8AM) and when to the moonshine arch. This is a fantastic site. We were able to climb on top of the arch with Robert's help. We then went out rock crawling. We started driving up the face of Turtle rock. Unbelievable! We continued on one of the trails going up and down slick rocks. Robert can drive his Jeep up a rock face that I didn't think was possible. I was laughing all the time. I never experienced any thing like this. The Tour was well worth the cost. I would like to do the tour again.

While I was excited to see dinosaur prints and hike and see petroglyphs, I was a little nervous about the rock crawling. My husband and son insisted, so we did it. Robert was very understanding and offered to stop whenever I needed, but I never needed. My 16 year old son was in heaven, and I felt quite adventurous. What excitement! Robert was skilled and informative and fun to be around, the Jeep was great, and we absolutely recommend this adventure for anyone and everyone who finds themselves in or around Vernal.

Robert is a great guide , sympathetic, friendly and open to hear of what your needs are . We had a wonderful morning . Apart from Robert I must admit that the jeep is an incredible vehicle, it can Climb everything . I told Robert :”Man now I understand why the Americans won WWII” (The jeep) . I’ve done many foolish things in my life but really this trip was amazing , and Utah authentic .

Robert was the perfect host. We were taken off road to places we could never been to on foot. Moonshine arch is beautiful and the Petroglyph roam art was stunning. And if you get chance Robert will take you rock crawling in the jeep. This is an experience you will never forget and you will go places you would think impossible. Thanks to Robert we had an awesome time
