One of the best food walking tours I’ve done. Melissa our guide was fun, energetic and kept us entertained with the stories of each of the family owned businesses we visited. It was nice to become familiar with the downtown area with a local who could also give recommendations along the way. Melissa great guide We started Marco coal fire pizzeria - the pizza was delicious. I opted for the alcohol pairing so I also enjoyed a homemade limoncello. This pizzeria earned an AVPN certified from Napoli. Next we went to Lazo’s empanadas where we tried the ground beef empanada paired with a Malbec from Argentina I really enjoyed the pairing. Next we went to Biker Jim’s - here we tried a jalapeño and cheese Elk Dog topped with crème cheese & Coca-Cola onions it was very good! Anthony Bourdain reviewed the elk dog on episode No Reservations It was a nice leisurely walk from restaurant to restaurant and restroom stops at each location. Then we went to Kachina and tried the Texan Fry bread Taco paired with their award winning margarita. Our last stop was at Ultreia which is located in the Union strain Station. Chef Jennifer Jasinski and her partner Beth Gruitch received a James Beard Award. We tried a dessert there from a Portugal, Paste de nata and it was delicious I would highly recommend this tour!! She pointed out so many little hidden gems along the way.

Dan (or Denver Dan!) was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. Just a super nice guy! The food was awesome, and we learned a lot about Denver’s history. Highly recommend this tour at the beginning of your time in Denver so that you can visit all the recommended restaurants. Dan gave each of us personalized suggestions of where to go to find restaurants for our favorite foods. Book this tour—you won’t regret it!!!

So here's the the thing. I went on this tour September 2022 and I think about and the tour guide at least once a week. I have had the email in my saved folder to do the review just no knowing how to put into words how amazing this was. First thing you are going to learn a little history about denver which is so cool. Next you see the city. Then try amazing food you may be to nervous to try and it turns out it's amazing! And last the guide after being so sweet getting to know everyone he gave as all suggestions on what we could do with the rest of our vacations! Now that is an amazing and personalized tour. I can't wait to get back to the city and do this again :)

Had an amazing time, eating at five different restaurants, hearing the history of the restaurant and the building. Barry was awesome and I would definitely recommend anyone to do this tour in downtown.

Melissa was SUPER informative, friendly and fun! She was knowledgeable about the area, history and even about restaurants not on the current tour. We all came away with our expectations exceeded!

The sampling of delicious food is very nice, but I really enjoy learning tidbits about the dishes tried and how they relate to Denver. Full belly and full mind. Loved meeting and socializing with like minded individuals over food and drinks. Our tour guide self proclaimed himself as “Denver Dan” lived up to his moniker. He most certainly made the tour way way more enjoyable than it should be. Thank you Dan!
