We greatly enjoyed the Walking Tour of Soviet Berlin with our guide, Holger. Holger shared his extensive knowledge with us and also shared a little bit of what it was life was like for him growing up in East Germany. We highly recommend this experience as it will give you a broad understanding of the city and Berlin's history.

I had 36 hours in Berlin, and am absolutely thrilled I spent 4 of them with Holger! Holger and I started with the Soviet Berlin Tour I and modified it to include some additional WWII sites and to end at the Berlin Wall Memorial (which is in a different area than the rest of the tour). Holger made the history come alive with tons of fascinating details; he clearly loves history and Berlin/Potsdam. It really makes a difference seeing Berlin through the eyes of someone born in East Germany, who lived through the two different eras. Holger's English is perfect, and he adapted the tour to my interests and to the fact it was pouring freezing rain. He also helped me plan out what I should see during the rest of my stay on my own. My only regret is not having more time to spend in Berlin seeing it through Holger's eyes. I will definitely book another tour with Berlins Taiga next time I am in Berlin!
