Beautiful trip! Amazing history! The Bavarian countryside is exactly like we pictured. We ate lunch at Eagles Nest and took so many photos! The ride up the mountain can be a bit scary when you look out the windows but the buses were safe and driver was well experienced. Our tour guide knew so much and was so sweet!

This was the best tour!! To start with our tour guide Lotti was by far the BEST tour guide ever. Her knowledge of Munich and Eagle Nest was endless. Her wanting to make this the best tour for each of us was amazing. The ride to Eagle Nest was so beautiful. Being up that high on a mountian and over looking the most beautiful views was breath taking..

The trip is a good way to sightsee, since it takes all day. The Autobahn from Munich to Salzburg is not very scenic, but the rest is interesting. Not clear from the description is that this is just the cost of the tour bus, and y you must pay extra for the bus to the top, about 24 euros per person. Also the bunker museum is additional. Overall it probably costs less than a rental car and gas. The views from the top are superb!

Perfect weather made the trip great. Good views of mountains on the way there and from the top. Great guide.

Due to unexpected road conditions (falling rocks from mountainside) our tour was not able to take the bus up to Eagle’s Nest. As disappointed as we were, our time was extended at the Dokumentation Obersalzberg where history came alive through this new museum which opened in 2024, replacing the original building which, I believe, opened in 1999. We had no idea about this museum, some of Hitler’s documents available, but also many items belonging to the Jews who helped build the bunkers in the later years of WWII. AND, the bunker tunnels were connected to the Dokumentation Center! I had always heard of the bunkers but never expected to be able to walk through this portion of history. We did not see Hitler’s or Goerring’s personal bunkers (there are 6 kms and 106 rooms in the tunnels), but we did experience part of the supply tunnel. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable; however, due to the size of our crowd and the abilities of some of us who couldn’t keep up on a half-mile or so walk around the exterior property after the museum (which we did on our own), it was difficult to keep up and hear what was said. Guide did her best. Head phones and a speaker system would have helped. All in all, we are very glad we took this tour, which included a brief stop in Berchtesgaden on our way back to Munich.
