It should be made clear that this bus line is OWNED by National Express, it is incredibly deceiving as the tickets given at Self Help Machines say “National Express”, which suggests individuals should be going on the busses that literally say “National Express” and not “the Airline”. My friend and I waited around for the right bus for about 3 hours before realizing that we had to take the “Airline” bus (see photos). Of course this could have been prevented if bus tracking on the website was working when we scanned it, or if the arrival time would have ever updated in the Bus Station (the departure/arrival lists stated “wait in the lounge” for the entire time and never updated as to which section we should stand). It also did not help that staff were rude/condescending when asked which was the right bus, as if it was incredibly obviously stated on the ticket (no, it was not).

We arrived at the Central coach station at 10:20, we didn't get picked up until 13:30. Online there were no tickets available on the airline bus website, so we bought National Express tickets. There was terrible traffic but when we searched the "track your bus" provided on the ticket it only showed us the National Express services. This seemed logical, because the ticket did say National Express and not Airline Bus. We waited until 12:50 for that National Express bus to arrive only for them to deny us boarding because our "ticket was for the Airline service". When we asked where it said that, the lady working got very annoyed at me and said "Look, it says to Oxford! It's the Airline bus" again, there was a National Express bus going to Oxford so why would that not be the one we take? After this interaction, the next Airline bus was half an hour late.

The driver from LHR to Gloucester Green took 2 cigarette breaks. He actually pulled into a stop, got out, had half a cigarette and then started back on the journey. And then he did it again at Thornhill Park and Ride. This service used to be good before they added the pointless stops (Lewknor and High Wycombe), took local passengers, and reduced the schedule. The LHR-OXF drive is 60 minutes; the bus is now 100+ minutes. What happened? If there are 2+ travelers, you are much better off getting a taxi.

Two people were refused boarding. One because she had the wrong credit card and one because although she had booked, she had been unable to get through to confirm her ticket. It is sad that people’s first experience of Britain is this bad. I apologise to our foreign guests for this treatment.

This is a great way to travel n the U.K.. Fast, efficient and friendly. The coach from Oxford to London, Heathrow was not at all crowded and the was clean and comfortable. They do require that you wear your seatbelt to ensure your safety. They also offer free wifi for the ride. Although my phone said connected, I could not use the internet. No USB ports available for charging.

The first two bus drivers we tried to speak with saw our reservation was made through viator and refused to talk to us. The third bus driver looked at our reservation and said, 'That will work, get in.' He then saw we had four large suitcases and he got angry and said, 'This is going to take all day.' We love viator but will NEVER travel with Airport Coach Service again!
