What a waste. Zooming past the city and past small openings in the trees to "possibly" see whales. Off-season salmon runs so very unlikely to see bears. Totem stop with all varying stories from tour guides. Lies lies lies from the moment the sales pitch started. He Said, "The fish Runs started early" I questioned him and he flat out lied. "Because there are no guarantees"

Maybe we came too early in the season. I know our tour guide said the same about 5 times during the "tour". He was a nice enough man, and I think he was trying his best. However, the part of title of "Totems, City & Wildlife by Cable Car Trolley" is a stretch. It's a bus that is dresses up to look like a trolley. The windows are plastic sheets that are generally covered in rain drops so picture taking through that is difficult. There are blankets for passengers because of the heat gets turned on the plastic sheets fog up and you can't even see the rain drops let alone take pictures through it. The "City" portion of the tour is just as you are driving out of the one street in/out of town. Don't blink. You are then taken to an Overlook stop where "In about two weeks the salmon will be spawning and the bears will be here. In the mean time here is some video on my phone I captured." Again, he was trying but really? I don't want to watch his phone videos anymore than I liked watching slideshows as a kid of other people's vacations or flipping through the mountain of pictures people took and got developed at the Kodak Shack. The Totems part and Park, so, we drive out to a rest area style park that has approximately 5 totem poles and a general store across the street. A history lesson about someone that apparently had something to do with settling the area so Alaska could become a state. And then you are free to walk around for 15-20 minutes before we get back on the bus. The only reason I figure we stayed for that time was so we could all mill about in the store that was stocked with nothing. Again, maybe we were too early in the season. Back on the bus, heading back to town, brakes are tapped a little too hard, passengers "took a bow" because there was an Eagle on a pole behind the houses we were passing and if we were quick we could get a picture of it in between the homes; No one was quick enough. I will say again, our tour guide tried, but I believe even HE didn't think this tour should be happening yet. That's it. That's all and Good Night.

Our guide was great. The tour was very poor. Quality of the Trolly Car was poor. Seats have no legroom and it was very loud making it hard to hear the guide talking. There was nothing to see that was memorable on the trip. The best was the totem pole exhibit, but honestly it was not worth the $$ that was paid to go on the trip. Overpriced for what you get

Total waste of time and money, just a city ride of 10miles. It’s not worth it, we couldn’t see any animals.

Having only a limited time in Ketchikan, my sister and I booked this tour and loved it! A cable car is fun anytime but the driver/guide was friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. We stopped a few times for photo opportunities and never felt rushed but certainly saw the area around Ketchikan. Terrific and would recommend.

The trolley did not show up at the specified time/location. FINALLY, the "manager" came by and asked why we were waiting and we stated that it had not shown up. My son circled the building continuously as we were told that the trolley can come on either side of the building. The manager took us to the first stop but by this time we had missed approximately 45 minutes of a 2 hour tour. No explanation nor apology was offered. Very disappointed! I have used Viator several times before and have been pleased. This was a disappointment as it was my family's first experience in Alaska. No offer of a partial refund was offered.

Even with the rainy day our guide, Rosa, gave us an excellent tour of the town, totem poles, and an amazing waterfall.

Totem pole park. Too bad pouring rain the whole tour. Guide was informative and humorous. Glad to not see any bears.

Allison_P

The town is small, so not much to tell. The driver was late by 15 minutes and pushed into our time for our next event. Ride was to a stream, next to a hatchery. No animal sittings. Saw two eagles on the drive. Long stop at a totem place, then dropped us back in town. Not exciting.

James_W

Had a great tour, didn't get to see any bears. Jeff was very informative about all the things on the tour.
