What to expect
If you have just arrived in Florence, join our tour to get an overview of the city with our professional, expert guides.
You will be welcomed in piazza Santa Maria Novella – only few steps away from the main train station – where your will be introduced to the history of the Medieval city. You will then reach the San Lorenzo Market, whose colours and scents will inebriate you. Walk through the many stalls, stop by the butchers’ windows, and taste the famous peposo del Brunelleschi – named after the famous architect that designed the Cathedral Dome. Move a step forward and try the schiacciata with a selection of balsamic vinegar and honey, and do not miss the amazing fresh pasta, prepared according the traditional recipes. Once out of the market, follow your guide’s lead towards the Baptistery and the Cathedral – whose Gothic-style façade will amaze you. Have a break to taste the famous pappa al pomodoro and the ribollita, traditional soups of the Tuscany region and enjoy a glass of Chianti, before heading to piazza Santa Croce – field of the Calcio Storico championship during the summer season. Taste a coccolo and have a gelato while continuing your pleasant walk into Borgo de’ Greci. Reach Palazzo Vecchio and cross Ponte Vecchio to reach Oltrarno – the Southern part of the city - where you will see Palazzo Pitti, the Medici family’s residence, and the Santo Spirito Church.
