Fontaine du Soleil

The Fountain of the Sun, or Fontaine du Soleil, is located on the south side of Place Masséna. It was first dedicated in 1956. Alfred Janniot designed five bronze statues symbolizing Earth, Mars, Mercury, Venus, and Saturn. The fountain is centered by a seven-meter-tall statue of Apollo.

Nice Cathedral

Nice Cathedral, also known as Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate de Nice, is a Catholic cathedral and the seat of the Diocese of Nice. Construction on the main body of the existing cathedral began in 1650 and was completed in 1685. Construction on the cathedral proceeded following its dedication in 1699, with new buildings and artistic components added in 1949. The cathedral is dedicated to the Virgin Mary's Assumption and Saint Reparata. It has been designated a national monument since August 9, 1906.

Modern and Contemporary Art Museum (MAMAC)

The Musée d'art Moderne et Contemporain (MAMAC), often known as the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, is a museum dedicated to modern and contemporary art. It first opened on June 21, 1990. It is shaped as a tetrapod arch across the course of the Paillon and was built by two architects, Yves Bayard and Henri Vidal. The monumentality of the proposal designed to span the Paillon permits connectivity from the Museum to the Theater by a terrace named the Promenade des Arts. The building's architecture is inspired by neo-classicism standards, as seen by its square layout. The collections provide an overview of avant-garde artistic productions from the late 1950s to the present, belonging to various movements.

Colline du Château

Nice Castle was a military fortress. From the 11th through the 18th centuries, it stood atop a hill overlooking the bay of Nice. It was besieged numerous times, most notably in 1543 and 1691, until being captured by French soldiers in 1705 and eventually demolished by Louis XIV's order in 1706. Castle Hill is now utilized as a park. It is Nice's most famous public garden and a must-see for the many tourists that visit the city. It affords a wonderful view all day long from dawn to dusk, showcasing different landscapes depending on where one looks: the Harbor at daybreak and the Promenade des Anglais at sunset. This is why Castle Hill is known as the "Cradle of the Sun."
