My review of Viator Versailles bike tour via Bikeabout. - [ ] Easy to book through Viator. Maybe a bit of a discount through that site. I immediately received confirmation of my booking along with Spam emails saying I purchased IPads with my PayPal (phishing) - [ ] I easily made changes to my reservation online as I needed to change dates. Phishing emails continued but only after I made changes to my reservation. - [ ] Cedrick was our tour guide. He was wonderful. So informative and helpful in every detail. We meet at the Peloton coffee shop at 7:45 am. Early as suggested so we could grab breakfast. it wasn’t open for service yet so we waited outside. We had a very rainy day. 8:00am, the coffee shop opened and a big group of cyclists came in for coffee. We were able to get coffee and breakfast sandwiches before we left on our walk past Notre Dome to the train station at St. Michelle. We arrived to Versailles and walked to where the bikes were stored. Biked to the Market which didn’t have many outside shops open yet and not crowded probably due to the rain. We shopped for our picnic lunch items and were off on the bikes to the gardens behind the Chateau of Versailles. We walked around the gardens and ate our picnic lunch on a bench before the heavier rain set in. The cafe at the lakeside had coffee, beer and big umbrellas with tables for refuge as well as restrooms. Cedrick had rain ponchos to offer us which was a nice addition as we all had our rain jackets on. We road off to the Estate of Trianon: Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon as well as Marie Antoinette’s Queen’s Hamlet. We returned our bikes to storage and walked to the main gate of the Chateau. Said goodbye to Cedrick and we toured the Chateau at our leisure before catching the train back to Paris.

My daughter and I went on the bike tour with Burt and had a lovely day! We really enjoyed being able to see so much of the town, the gardens, the Trianon and estate, and of course the castle by biking. Burt did a great job of sharing interesting history and trivia about Versailles while keeping us together and on time for our tour. The market and picnic at the gardens was definitely a highlight. We also appreciated exploring the chateau on our own after the tour ended. Thank you!

My brother, sister in law, and I had a great time with this tour! David was our guide and he was wonderful! It was an educational visit and we felt like we explored areas of Versailles and the gardens that we wouldn't have know to see on our own. Most of this tour is outside the palace itself and ended with us getting to explore the palace at our own pace in the afternoon. We also got a taste of the town itself with a visit to the weekly market which was an unexpected treat. Would highly recommend this trip!

Really enjoyed the entire trip, David from start to finish was really informative not only about Versaille itself but also super helpful with understanding various things about France (travel, food, ettiquette etc) The start point at the cafe is really nice as they have amazing coffee and breakfasts. Having lunch on the grounds of Versaille makes a really good picture moment and the cycle itself was never too challenging with plenty of stops and explainers on the way. Highly recommend it as one of the first things you do when visiting France/Paris as a foreign tourist as it really sets you up for the rest of the trip - thanks for your amazing work David

This tour is incredible!!! Biking around the town of Versailles was so relaxing and fun. You get to stop at the market and grab incredible food for a picnic. You see so much more of the grounds on a bike vs walking alone. It can be crowded in the Chataeu, so be prepared for that. Trains are easy. Marley, our tour guide, was fabulous!!!

I went to Paris with my friend to celebrate our 50th birthday and this was the best excursion! There was a convenient meeting point so we all could take the 30-minute train ride together to get to Versailles. Our tour guide, Jude, was very knowledgeable and fun. He also accommodated the group as needed and there was no pressure to rush. We biked to the palace, where we parked our bikes and walked around the gardens. We also had a picnic lunch near the canal and then biked some more to the other sites, the Grand Trianon, Le Petit Trianon (Marie Antoinette's home) and the Queen's Hamlet, which is a small village with a farm. At the end we dropped off our bikes and were had access to the inside of the palace. Very well organized, but does involve a good 6 hours of biking and walking, so you should be a moderately active person. HIGHLY recommended. I can't think of another way to cover the immense grounds of the property...

We had a terrific day with Bike About Tours in Versailles. We saw so much more of the city and the palace grounds than we would have if we’d gone on our own. Visiting the beautiful food markets and picnicking in the Versailles gardens were a highlight. Many thanks to Marley for a fabulous tour!

Great tour!! Our guide David took us to some really cool places on the palace grounds that were even more interesting than the palace itself, and we definitely would’ve missed out on those spots without his guidance. It rained a lot on our tour, but he brought ponchos for us and we still had a great time. Would totally recommend!!
