Our Guide, Carter, was so well informed and interesting. You could tell she loved what she was doing. One of the stops were in Smith's Union Bar. This bar was featured in the new movie "Midway"......how exciting to know that we were in that very same bar. Oh the history! Will certainly recommend this tour and would go on it again! Do not recommend for anyone under the age of 16 though. Thanks Carter!

My husband and I took a late afternoon tour of Chinatown/the red-light district during WWII with Carter. Carter's storytelling ability is truly a gift - she will keep you laughing, waiting for the next twist and turn in the fortunes of those who lived, or saw active duty, in Honlulu during WWII. One of my favorite walking tours ever. Don't miss it.

Tour was awesome. Carter (the founder) was exceptional in her knowledge and enthusiasm. I went back to Smith’s Union Bar (in Chinatown) after the tour to have a beer and take it all in. Just think, how many USS Arizona sailors had their last drink there? I’m an avid lifelong WWII buff and former docent at a WWII museum and this tour made my trip.

Highly recommend. Carter knew her stuff and had us laughing the whole time. See a new side of hawaii.

We stepped back into time. Carter, our guide was amazing. She was so animated, well researched and engaging. We laughed, blushed and heard of the sailor life during WWII. Not for children!

This tour is one I can both respect and love. I can respect it in an academic level as Carter has researched and documented every one of her facts. I love this tour because it tells (true) naughty stories of what soldiers got up to during wartime. Every last bit of history we’re given is PG rated. We all know our ancestors weren’t puritans but that remains just a suspicion. This walking tour is proof our grandparents were as young and as enamoured of sex as were, are or will be. Bravo, Carter

Well firstly I would like to thank tour guide for her flexibility as I got the tour time wrong. But arrangements were made and we were able to do the tour, which is a big tick. The tour went through Chinatown, Honolulu which to be honest is not the top end of town. But the detail and entertainment the tour guide provided was excellent. I learnt so much in such a short time frame. The walking is not taxing and we were both able to manage it quite easily. Just a tip, you will need to pre-arrange a taxi pick up from the tour meeting point, as this is the only way home, apart from the bus.

This tour was great! Walking around downtown Honolulu learning about the “brothels and fun stories”! Fun! Recommend for all! That is except kids!

This was so much fun. Carter was absolutely amazing. Funny, informative, extremely knowledgeable and a joy to spend the morning with. The history of this period was fascinating. Being a retired Navy man made it even more interesting. Do not miss this!!!

Well, I didn’t really cry, but I did laugh a lot. Carter is a great tour guide. Even though I grew up in Hawaii, I learned a lot from this tour - things you won’t find in history books. Plus, you get to explore Chinatown. Whether you’re visiting or live there, book this tour!
