Updating due to the hotel's reply. Let me be very clear, we had no problem paying for the room at the non-discount rate which is what happened anyways. It was the behavior and the treatment of a customer that disgusted us to the point to even write a review. No human being should have to be treated that way or talked to in such a manner. She needs to be fired and trust me, I will go back and forth on this because that is how wrong it was and she was. Fyi, if you checked your facts, you would see I am elite status with more than enough points that if I really did not want to use money for this stay, I would have just used my points and now I wish I did due to the experience. Also, it is not our fault that the EID system is down and has been for the last few weeks. But again, none of that mattered to her because she has zero customer service skills. The worst experience ever, all because of an associate that works the front desk that was rude, condescending, unwilling to help, quite honestly Jolene was a complete embarrassment to the Marriott brand. I warn you not to stay at this property ever and if you do make sure you do NOT check in when she is on site. Safety: Did not feel safe at all to utter and apparent racial profiling.

Huge room, great location, comfy bed, quiet, fun bar area, free parking - what a great hotel! We knew it was close to DPAC and got a room for the night of the show, but didn’t realize it was so very close — and how nice it was to look out our window to see when they opened the doors and to be able to relax right up until the performance. Had never visited Durham before and enjoyed a walk along Tobacco Road and its water feature, etc. the hotel itself was much nicer than we expected - from the lobby to the service to the room and the bed, top notch. A fun little weekend getaway from Charlotte.
