Austin Motel

We love Austin Motel! Not only does Austin Motel throw the best parties all summer long, it's the perfect place to THROW a party! I hosted a pool party with friends and family and it was a blast! Highly recommend thinking about it for your next event. It's the perfect blend of classic Austin in a relaxed, fun way. We also had a bock of rooms to fully enjoy the hotel for the weekend. My suite was awesome with extra space to relax. Highly recommend! The rooms are simple and well-appointed. Great bed, too. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful at the hotel. They made my guests feel welcome! I want to plan my next staycation to enjoy the pool again! Rooms: Comfortable, well-appointed with what you need. No too fancy, but the bed, pillows, and linens were top notch. I love the fun towel hooks. Nearby activities: I mean, you are by so much live music, shopping, the river... take your pick, or do them all! Safety: I felt so safe and secure. Walkability: Love the walkability of this hotel! South Congress is such a fun part of Austin Food & drinks: These pool drinks are so good. SO many options, including mocktails. Plus, you can't beat Joanne's and Jo's next door! The minibar was well appointed, too. Noteworthy details: I love Bunkhouse hotels because each one is so unique and has it's own personality. Austin Motel is a gem and maintains a piece of mid-century charm, with modern ammenities.

It’s true in some businesses it’s all about location, location, location. The AM is more than just a great location. It’s a place where things are thought out , but not in an over the top kind of way. I hope you’ll stay there and enjoy it as much as I did!

Hopefully you don’t arrive when they are busy as they are not equipped to turnover full vacancy on time for check ins the next day. Several guests including myself waited more than 2 hours past check in time for rooms, so evening plans were ruined as we couldn’t get into our rooms to get ready and have a nap. Also, some rooms do NOT have outlets in the bathroom, so if you need to use electric hair tools you need to hopefully find an outlet close enough to the dressing mirror. Also, they sometimes close the pool for private parties so you need to walk up the street to their sister property to use the pool there. This was all disappointing to deal with after a long day of travelling.
