The terrible General Manager, has terrible customer service skills. The hotel is an old hotel trying to be a boutique hotel. It was cute enough, but done on a cheap buget based on quality of furnishings. The bathroom had much to be desired. I could not stand at the sink with the door closed. The toilet had maybe 18 inch clearance to the sink. The real problem was the shower, it trickled out. I called to the front desk at 8:30 am and got no answer. I took a sponge bath using the sink which thankfully was 6 inches from the shower. I could not wash my hair and was preparing for an international flight. Upon check out I was told to use the keypad since no one comes in until 10 am. I saw a young women at the cafe that was delivering a money box, I asked her role and was told she was the GM. I I explained to her what happened and she told me all I needed to do was pull out the handle. It just so happened another gentleman could not get his shower to work either, but his issue was resolved since she was there to provide info. I explained to her I had called earlier and there was no answer and she said they do not have staff until 10 am. I mentioned that was not good since I needed assistance and now needed to leave for the airport as my bags were packed. She said well you needed to pull it out and walked away without regret and could careless. No gesture of can I buy you a coffee or come back and offer is a small discount. I have a property management company with 200 individually owned properties. We are available 24/7 by phone and can trouble shoot property specific nuances. This hotel is owned by a hotel group with a number of hotels under it, they had no problem calling me 3 times prior to arrival masking it as checking on my arrival but it was really asking me to go on a tour for the hotel groups new travel club timeshare. Maybe they should invest into customer service training and a call center to help actial guests staying there. I will not stay there again or recommend it. Plenty of places to stay

Very friendly staff. Quaint and cozy room. The 4 stars are for the staff
