As we live in the area, we don’t stay in town as often as other places. However, the Liberty is worth returning to often! The warm welcome from the valet—in tandem with the cheerful & efficient check-in, made for a seamless arrival. This experience was immediately elevated upon meeting the Chef Concierge, Mirko. He truly epitomizes the definition of hospitality! His personability & resources clearly explain his tenure with the hotel. Mirko is an invaluable asset at an extraordinary hotel. His personal touch at such a special boutique hotel made all the difference. Many thanks to Mirko & the entire Liberty Hotel team—we hope to be back sooner than later! Happy Halloween 🎃 👻

Familiar with Boston hotels over years of business and kids in college. Have stayed at W, Ritz, 4Seasons, Intercontinental, Westin Copley Plaza and, of course, the Liberty. On a recent “parent’s weekend” we chose to return to the Liberty and frankly thankful that we did. The usuals were all in place, especially the attentive and available staff (we arrived at 1:45am to an empty lobby except for the desk agent waiting to greet us), but we were initially given a connecting room - not something we prefer. Given our early morning arrival and the high occupancy rate we were asked to check back later in the day about switching rooms. We found ourselves 3rd in line at the desk around 10am and were approached by the GM asking why we were on line and if he might be able to help us. He took our details and concerns and assured us that he would talk to the Desk Mgr and that someone would contact us within the hour...and then he moved onto the next guest behind us. The GM had no idea of our status but was merely stepping in to help the line move along Long/short, the Liberty did an amazing job finding us accommodations which frankly were beyond what we expected during a weekend I’d suspect they were >95% occupancy. Accommodations that were incredibly helpful during an unexpected personal emergency that we faced. Good location, solid property, but most importantly a staff that looks to put the full resources of the hotel to work for the clients.

This hotel calls itself the luxury collection - but it is an average three star hotel. On a long time business trip it felt like the jail that once occupied the building. A sort of hell I could not get out. (More on that later.) Bluntly dark, noisy. The room had industrial noise all night. The air-con was so loud I had to turn it off. But I could hear the neighbours aircon too. And I could here the neighbour showering as the pipes knocked. And I could hear the neighbour flush the toilet as well. Oh, and from room 1122 you could also here the cooling systems on the neighbouring building. They call themselves the Luxury Collection - but they protest way too much. More like a dark prison. It was a business trip with a long booking (11 days). I booked a cancellable reservation - but hey - the moment I checked in for 11 days they told me I could not get a refund - and boy did I want to check out. They essentiallly financially locked me into the prison - and against the terms of the contract I thought I had. You could not search the booking on Marriot website either - because it would not allow you to search for a past booking. The whole experience has turned me off Marriot - permanently. This is a loss for the chain because I stay about 100 nights a year in hotels - mostly of the higher class. Combined with my staff hotel bills are about 250K a year. Their loss. This place sucks.
