A birthday is such an important event in child's life, getting the party right can be stressful for the parents - booking and organising the event can leave a lot of loose ends. The pressure can be on to not only make sure your child has the best day of the year (maybe after Christmas day!), but also their friends go home saying "I want a party just like that!"

Start with your budget, since costs can get out of control making sure your little one is kept happy. But be careful it’s a kid's party and not a coronation of a head of state. Once that is agreed think about who to invite, there may be some "playground politics" to consider. Do you invite the whole class? Do you invite a mix of school friends and friends from outside of school? Will family be invited? Would they appreciate being invited? Will you be inviting children who invited your child to their party? The invitations can be one of the most stressful elements in putting together a children’s party.

Selecting the party location is a vital part of the party budget. Save money by doing it at home - which meaning you can spend more on entertainment and food but be stuck with the cleaning up. Or host the party elsewhere with extra costs - but with less cleaning!
