My husband and I really enjoyed the kayak tour - we had a great guide - Gerardo at Everday California was knowledgeable and friendly! We saw a whale and dolphins, and the two hours flew by. We would definitely do it again!

Danielle's tour is wonderful. She gives tips for preparing that are completely accurate and helpful, right up to where to park. Then she's an amazingly clear presenter of everything from how to kayak to how to comport yourself in the water when on a tour with her. She connects with all the guests and remembers little facts about them, even while managing different abilities and personalities on the water. There are so many things I appreciated about her, from her organization loading the kayaks and her "pitstops" on the water that gave any newbies a chance to rest, to her interesting facts, her enthusiasm, and the general ease with which she managed the group and the tour. While we saw no whales, I now feel confident that my husband and I could easily rent a kayak on our own from Everyday California and enjoy an outing safely, because Danielle told us many aspects of the area that we should watch out for, as well as the rules of the bay. If you're trying to decide whether to go out, or with whom to go out, I'd pick Danielle every time. Oh...and take the early morning tour if you like having a smaller group. Maybe it's not always true, but it was definitely a winner for us, having only three kayaks out there with a great guide in the morning.

Danielle was a great guide. Really enthusiastic. We didn't get to see any whales, but it was still a great tour.

My boyfriend and I went on the whale watching kayak tour and really enjoyed it. It’s a great way to do something active, get some sun, see playful animals, and learn a few new things! Though we didn’t see any whales or up close sea lions, we did see some dolphins and a huge area of birds in the water that flew by us at one point. It was quite a site and neat experience! From check in to the end of the tour, the staff were great. They worked well to get us checked in and moving through to get our gear (helmets, life jackets, and we opted for wetsuits since it was a chilly day). They were efficient but relaxed and friendly. Our guides Danielle and John did a fantastic job with our group. Both were friendly and took turns telling us about the animals we may be seeing, the ecosystem of the water beneath us and how it changed from spot to spot and what the plants were like.. informative but still fun and not dull at all. I loved learning about the area and the animals through the tour. They also did a great job of breaking up the kayaking with brief stops to share info and give people time to rest, so it wasn’t like you had to power through for two hours of nonstop kayaking. I’m in pretty good shape but the breaks were nice and gave time to enjoy the scenery more. Thanks for an awesome tour, Danielle and John!

This was my first time to San Diego, and what a wonderful way to experience the water! The weather was great on the day of my tour, and the water was very calm. The guides were very friendly and very knowledgable about the animals and ecosystem. Didn't see any whales, and I get the sense that a whale siting is less probable. This is the ocean, not Sea World, so expect to mostly look at the birds and the water with a few quick glimpses of sea lions and dolphins. BUT towards the end of our trip a whole pod of dolphins were swimming around very close to our group, and hung out for quite a while before moving on. Even our guides were excited, saying such an encounter is very rare. Check in was not as organized and clear as I would have liked, and I wish the wet-suit and locker rentals were included in the price of the trip. But all in all an enjoyable few hours, and definitely worth doing once.

We enjoyed this easy activity. It was fun entering through low waves. The guide, Greg, was very knowledgeable and friendly. All the staff was helpful and kind. We were disappointed that we couldn't actually enter the cave but the Lifeguard had just announced that it was not safe at low tide. Perhaps next time we will schedule for a high tide time.

While staying at the Hilton in La Jolla, we inquired about a whale watching tour and were directed to Everyday California- what an experience! We were a group of four, with very little kayaking experience. Travis took us out and did a phenomenal job. He did a great job keeping the group together at all times, and he had as much fun as the rest of us. We will be back in the summer to do it again.

Paid for Whale watching, it was just 2 hours of kayaking, with a guide. The kayaking is fine, just rent the kayaks, if there are whales, which is not very often, you will see them.

I randomly found this company as I was looking for Kayaking companies and I was looking for whale watching... The 2 hour whale watching trip we had this morning was worth every penny. The trip was professionally run with knowledgeable guides in a beautiful part of the coast. We were lucky to see just about everything you can see (sea-life wise) - dolphins, seals, sea-lions and grey whales. I'd like to send a massive thank you to the guides to what has been one of the highlights of a pan-American three-month trip!
