When you sell a product or a service, a company must ensure that it can present it. Unfortunately, that was not what happened on the tour on August 26, at 4:30 pm in 2023. 1) An ugly and windy afternoon - there were clearly no conditions and the company should propose to its customers to advance to avoid a bad experience, unfortunately Passeios da Ria Formosa preferred not to lose the money, even if it was a bad experience for their customers. 2) Route to the site - there is no explanation of what was seen, places, oyster production areas, localities, curiosities... nothing! 3) If you want to know more about Seahorses, habitats, reproduction, seasonality... it's better to go to Google first as they don't give any explanation!! 4) Arrival at the site - full of boats, boat with difficulty docking at the site, no visibility for the snorkel... terrible 5) Seahorses - one was seen and clearly very lucky (you could see the driver's relief) 6) Hygiene - without any guarantee that the equipment will be sanitized - if a previous user has herpes... 7) Return - more of the same, if the client doesn't ask anything else he will know nothing and if he asks a more complex question he won't have any specific training, nothing. Last note: (It's not a joke, this is "Ria Formosa Tour" working: upon arrival, at the information desk, a potential customer asks about what type of fish is usually caught on the "Sport Fishing Tour" they do. Employee's response: "I don't know, I've never been!!" A very unprofessional tourist experience, the money that the company collects must be invested to improve a lot, a lot. Thanks Bernardo Ferraz

We had a great boat tour with a stop at Culatra Island. Our skipper Tiago was very friendly and told us a lot about the Ria Formosa.

We booked the seahorse, watching tour because our Airbnb host highly recommended it to us. We saw a few seahorses, but not a lot. It turned out, that the population is to 90% distinct, because of the changing water conditions over the past few years. This is what our host told us later. She said, a few years ago it was really different and you could see lots of seahorses. What is sad fact, due to climate change. Our skipper Alfonso was really friendly and fun tho! He found an octopus for us that we all could pet and hold on our hands. This was an amazing experience! Also, while snorkelling, we saw lots of different marine life, like sea cucumbers, crabs, crabs living in shells, fishes and other marine life. Although I didn’t see as many seahorses, as I expected, it was still a very beautiful snorkelling tour. I would recommend to do it on a very hot day though, or to bring a wetsuit. I did it on a very windy day and I was freezing really badly.

This trip was abysmal. There was literally no wildlife to see and, accordingly, the skipper had very little to say about it. His English wasn't too good either. There was one little book for the six of us about the wildlife and it was all in Portuguese - not that we needed it for anything. Of the 2 hour trip we spent 40 minutes on the island and there wasn't much to see. The ferry to the island would have probably been much cheaper but it is not worth going there.

Two hours "tour" and only two short comments from our guide, that we could barely hear because he didn't have a microphone. He basically took us to Armona Island, told us we could walk around then took us back to Fuseta. We were supposed to have a guided tour, but that was not what we got. If I knew, I would have bought ferry tickets instead, that would have been much cheaper.

An amazing experience in Ria Formosa. Our host, Mr. João, was amazing. Very thoughtful and joking all the time. He was also very knowledgeable, he explain us in detail the names and stories of the Ria. The boat stopped twice, one in Culatra for lunch and other in Armona for a small tour/dive. A very enjoyable day.

Great tour with an excellent captain (Rafael) and an even excellent guide (Michael), Rio Formosa from the water gives a whole different view, and tons of info on the Rio formosa (clams, crabs, oyster banks,...tides) . One tip, time your boat trip with low tide (you can look this up) then you can see the oysterbanks and even taste one if you like, also you will see the locals hervestiging clams and other seafood.

Mafalda was our Captain and Guide and was fantastic. She was great pointing out all the flora and fauna we saw and was very friendly. Highly recommend this route for an enjoyable afternoon boat ride. We were also very lucky as there were only 5 of us on the boat.
