The trip was beautiful and so worthwhile. We were given the history of the area, information about the biodiversity and ecosystems of the area. We stopped at a beautiful beach and then went on to a fishing village in the area. Great day with a wonderful guide- thank you to Joao for a memorable day!

May 20th 2024 Last week we took a short break to Olhao, in the Algarve. During that time we decided to take a boat tour in the ria Formosa. We came across Sabino Boat Tours, at the quayside. We explained to Maria that we didn't want a too short or long a tour, she suggested the 3hr one (it costs 30euros). She was helpful and friendly and took the trouble to outline what it would include. The tour itself was a real delight. Joao, our guide and captain gave us a wonderful experience. He was knowledgable, funny and willing to explain about this beautiful area of wetland, beaches, sanddunes and islands and the people who fish and farm clams and oysters in its waters. With two stops, It gave us a flavour of what Culatra had to offer and an experience of a wander on a quiet beach, facing the ocean. Thank you so much Maria, Joao and Sabino Tours for a lovely few hours. Sue and Ron Morley.

The Ria Formosa is a beautiful spot. We enjoyed the pontoon boat ride and the commentary by the captain. However, we'd have preferred more time exploring the natural life (birds, etc). Only saw common terns. 1.5 hours for "exploring and dining" in fisherman village wasn't that interesting.

Wonderful experience! The guide was very passionate, explaining everything in English/Spanish so everyone understood! I would seriously recommend this tour to everyone! Enjoy!

The trip started with a boat ride up the waterways with the only thing we saw was clam and oyster farming from the distance. We were then dropped off and left at the nice beach for half an hour with no shade on a sand island that had no vegitation or bird life. We were then taken to Culatra Island and dropped off for over an hour. The description is an overstatement at the best. After walking through a few vllage streets it becomes the same thing. Most of the people on the trip sat in a bar for almost the entire time and ordered lunch but then had to take it as takaways as the service was so slow. Having done a lot of travelling this is one of the worst experiences I have ever had. To me it was an expensive boat ride to a beach and a restaurant/bar. The descripition of the tour is grossly exaggerated, Seeing no Flora or Fauna and the only bird life was a fock of birds on a sand spit as we came back nto the jetty. Don't waste your money on this tour.

Joao was very knowledgeable and, with a great sense of humour was really passionate about the whole ecosystem of the Ria Formosa. He took his time with us and answered any questions (no matter how silly !) Highly recommend this tour.

We have spent many holidays in the Algarve and never done a day out in the islands - until today and what a day it was. From the very efficient Maria who managed our booking with ease to the amazing João who was our guide. We loved hearing all about ‘working life’ on the various clam and oyster farms and hearing about his own career on the water in this part of the world. Stopping off for a swim near the Southwrn most tip of Portugal and having a walk around the beautiful fishing village of Culatra were two highlights. We were a group of 4 adults and 4 teenages and all loved our day out. The boat was perfectly comfortable for our group. Highly recommended!

10/10 worth the money. Beaches looked like you were in Caribbean. The fishing island is like a pocket of peace and the boat captain was captivating, kind and informative- he made the trip. Would definitely recommend this to anyone staying near Olhão.
