My husband went on a fishing excursion, so I decided to take this hike & I’m so glad I did. The guide, Jeff, was very enthusiastic & had a lot of knowledge to share. We went to the totem pole park first & learned about the meanings behind them. My favorite part was afterwards we hiked through the rainforest & saw the most amazing plants & trees. I’m glad I did this trip rather than an excursion through the cruise ship. We had a small group of 6 & it was much more personal. Definitely recommend!

The Totem park is a quiet, 10 minute drive out of the city and an easy roughly 3 km walk if you around it completely. It is on the ocean for part of the walk and the lush vegetation has many interesting formations of wood and foliage. It is easily accessible on foot with. No stairs. The footpath is mostly regular. The communal house is interesting and the the totem carving museum is open part of the time. The totems themselves are well preserved and colorful. There are a lot of them (10?) but they are nice. The whole area is peaceful and invigorating; you feel in the country there as opposed to the downtown exhibits. Kids can run around and be free.

Austin was knowledgeable with a good sense of humor. Who knew there is a rainforest in AK? We learned all about it while enjoying unique scenery. Would recommend this tour to everyone. Small group means lots of questions answered. Even saw a bear.

Exceptional experience -thank you Zack! Your goal--create smiles-fully accomplished. We learned what seemed to be ALL one needs to know about Ketchikan, the rain forest, the totem park. Zack's knowledge, energy, enthusiasm and most important ability to transmit all of that to "his guests" was far and away what made tour the most memorable time of our 7 day Cruise and Tour to Alaska.

We did the Rainforest Sanctuary and Totem Park Nature Walk with Jake on 6/7/24 - my husband and I plus two teenage boys, ages 15 and 17. It was very cool! Jake knew so much about the plants, trees, flowers, wildlife, and Alaska - including terrain and history of its people. He clearly loved his job which only added to the fun. The walk was light with so much to learn and incredible photos to be taken. Highly recommend this walk with Jake (and his new wife, Becca)!

Excellent hike and visit to the Totem Park. Austin was very knowledgable, there wasn’t a question asked that he didn’t know the answer to. He explained the flora and fauna as we hiked the trail. The trail was well laid out. There were quite a few manageable stairs. The totem park was very interesting hearing about the stories and history associated with each pole. The salmon dip was delicious. Highly recommend this tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our walk with tour guide Zach. He is very passionate about the area and environment. His passion and enthusiasm was inspiring. The rainforest walk was very beautiful. Pictures do not do it justice. The visit through the totem park was interesting. We especially loved the stories Zach told. It brought the history to life. Thank you, Zach!

This was a great tour made special by our guide, Zach. The time spent in the forest was amazing with Zach explaining the ecosystem and seeing a beautiful waterfall. We spent some time on the shore which made for excellent photo opportunities. The Totem Park segment was brought to life by Zach explaining the significance of all the carvings and how the indigenous tribe built and inhabited their amazing house which was rebuilt as a faithful replica in the forties. Especially evocative were his stories as retold by the tribes down through history.
