Grande-Conche beach is a fine sandy beach located in the towns of Royan and Saint-Georges-de-Didonne, in Charente-Maritime, on the right bank of the mouth of the Gironde estuary, immediate proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. About 2,600 meters long, it is lined with extremely fine sand, around 180 µm. Its formation seems to have taken place around 8,000 years ago.
