It was an amazing trip and a very new experience for us. the crew was very thoughtful and accommodating. Unfortunately the wind was weak so we need the engine to assist.

Great day out with Jorge, great host, looked after us really well. Would have preferred bit more wind and some sea chop, proper sailing, but SO Sails can’t be blamed for that! Did get some time under sail then the jet ski/donut time made the day for our party of kids in their 20’s. Bit of fishing thrown in as well. Best day of the hols according to our gang. Recommend 👍👍

What a perfect way to spend my 50th birthday with a lovely surprise dorm Jorge and Emily. We had an amazing time. Jorge was friendly and knowledgeable and kept the cava flowing. It was so special to see jumping baby tunas and a sun fish. It was fantastic value but felt very special. Booking with Emily was very easy and there is cheap parking in the marina right near the departure point. We would thoroughly recommend this spacious, clean and well equipped yacht (paddle board and donut). Thank you so much.

Our family of 4 booked an 8 day, customized trip with South Ole Spain Tours. I had done a lot of research prior to finding South Ole. So I sent them the itinerary I had sketched out and asked for opinions and options and for help booking everything. I suppose I should have seen the red flag when the original itinerary they sent to me listed the total price as the price per person (yikes, that would have been very expensive)..... It was very difficult to get details and specifics while planning. I had to continuously ask questions to get information, nothing was offered. I suppose now, that is because they are not so tuned in to the details. Our first night in Barcelona was the 1st trouble. They forgot to book a room with separate beds for our male/female teens (something we had specifically requested for obvious reasons)....luckily the hotel was able to remedy this, even though we then had rooms on different floors. Second 'incident'...we had requested tickets for the cable car from Port Vell in Barcelona to Monjuic. When we arrived at the cable car, we were told our tickets were for a different cable car, one that is already at Monjuic. We ended up not able to take the cable car that day and went back the following day only to wait over 90 minutes on line to get on. With these two errors in our first 2 days, we were getting stressed about things being accurate. I decided to check our tickets for our upcoming visit to the Dali house. We had requested an 11am reservation time and that is what our itinerary said. However, the tickets were for 9am. Ugh....We called South Ole ASAP. Emily tried, but told us that she was not able to change the reservation but that when we got there, they would try to get us in. Knowing we did not have a reservation time any more, we didn't rush to get there at a specific time. But when we did arrive (after 11am), we were told that she had in fact been able to change the reservation and that they had expected us to arrive between 10:30-11am. But now we had missed our time slot. Luckily, after waiting for 1 hour, they fit us in. But that ruined what was to be an afternoon on the beach. We had requested a hotel in Olot as a center point for a hot air balloon ride and some day trips to Tavertet and Rupit. Turns out, the hotel that she booked was actually in Llanares, 20 minutes drive further than Olot. While the itinerary said this was 15 minutes from the balloon ride, it was actually a 45 minute drive. 1 hour 15 minutes drive to Rupit and 1 hour 45 minutes drive to Tavertet. We spent a lot of time in the car. She should have recommended that we stay in a hotel right near the balloon ride (when we had to awake before sunrise). This was a much more central location and would have saved us hours of driving in the coming days. At the very least, a hotel in Olot as requested, would have saved us much driving. If there were no hotels in those areas, we should have been informed. I just don't think South Ole is familiar with the area and they just didn't do the research (one of the things we rely on a travel agent for). Were these mistakes devastating? No. However, with multiple mistakes, we were constantly stressed, wondering if the next stop would be correct. We were especially praying that the balloon company had our reservation since we had to get up before sunrise to get there in time. Luckily that one worked out. This is not how a vacation should be. Certainly not one executed by a travel agent. The one final mistake was the reservation for the Flamenco show for our last night in Barcelona. We arrived on time for our "8:45pm" reservation. Turns out, our reservations were on record for the 7pm show. Again, we got lucky and they had room for us. Emily did send me the email showing her request for the later show...but did she follow up and confirm? I guess not.... Using a travel agent is for reducing stress and making things easier. This was not the case with South Ole Spain. Using a travel agent is to enable you to tap into an experienced knowledge base. In many cases we did not find this a benefit of using South Ole either. I did not give a rating of Poor because there were many things that did work out fine. The hotels were all nice and in nice locations (with the one location exception mentioned above). The guided tours for the most part were good. We really liked our tour guides in both Girona and in the Pyrenees. (We didn't love our Barcelona guide. He was very rushed and prejudiced and made his feelings known). I truly do not like to give bad reviews. However, I had recommended South Ole to a friend of mine as well, who is still away. But the reports back from here were of multiple mistakes with her reservations as well. I just don't want this to happen to others. If you do use South Ole, CHECK EVERY DETAIL.

Our party of 4 contacted Emily in June 2015 to help us plan our 12 day September trip to Spain arranging transportation from and to airports/train station to our hotels and arrange private guided tours , 3 days in Barcelona, (with city tour, tour of Freixenet Family "Cava" Winery , the seaside town of Sitges and a half day tour of Montserrat; 2 days in Granada, with a private tour of the Alhambra; private transport from Granada to Sevilla, stopping at the seaside town of Malaga with a private guided "Tapas Tour" and a tour of Antequera; 2 days in Sevilla with private tour of the city and flamenco show; Train tickets to Madrid, 3 days in Madrid, with private tour of city, and private tour of the ancient town of Toledo. All transportation services and guides were excellent, however we did experience one disappointment in our trip to the wine caves of Freixenet, at the last minute our hotel pick up was delayed from 10:00 am to 11:30 am, when we arrived at the winery in a pouring rain we found out we missed our "English Speaking" Group Tour of approximately 20 people by an hour, thinking we were to have a private tour I contacted Emily and she informed us that we did not have a "private guided tour", but we had all ready missed the winery tour after driving about one hour. Emily did compensate us with another private winery tour the same day at Miquel Jane winery, which turned out excellent! If it had not been the frustration and misunderstanding at Freixenet, this review would have been rated excellent! My advice is take nothing for granted and make sure if you want a private guide thats want your getting, not a local "group" guided tour.
