We have time and options to explore the hills above in our Land Rover or explore the impressive ruins, wandering through its ancient walls and towers. The choice is yours. We will take a break to enjoy a traditional English Pub or Tea Room for lunch. There's also time to browse the many quaint village shops if you're keen.
Jurassic Coast
Your Safari guide will again head off road in their spectacular Land Rover Defender, taking you up on to the Purbeck Hills to the iconic Heaven's Gate. The view is probably the best in Dorset, overlooking the world famous Jurassic Coast. Only accessible with our Land Rover, we are the Only cruise excursion to be able to take you to Heaven's Gate We'll stop for a stretch of legs, a lovely hot beverage and Helen's home made cake! And of course, take some photos in this incredible location. Other than a few intrepid hikers, this spot will be just ours to enjoy. Then we will drive along the ridge with 360 degree sea and hill views, stopping briefly to say hello to the sheep and cattle we will undoubtedly encounter in their fields.
Tyneham
Tyneham is a unique and hauntingly beautiful village located on the Dorset coast. Once a thriving community, Tyneham was abandoned during World War II when the British Army requisitioned the area for military training. The village was never re-inhabited, and its buildings remain largely frozen in time, providing a glimpse into life in rural Dorset. Today, Tyneham offers a fascinating and eerie experience as you wander through its deserted streets, see the restored church and school. The area is part of the Purbeck Hills, with stunning views of the coastline, making it an atmospheric stop for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike

A significant aspect of Steeple Church’s history is its connection to two prominent families: the Bond and Washington families.
