I went to Lake District after spending time in Edinburgh and the highland. So I thought I have seen it all but I still find Lake District is stunningly beautiful, with lakes and pretty building dated as far back as 1200s. The town where the Windermere train station is located is simple but you can walk further down to see the pretty Windermere lake or choose to live in other town of Lake District. I had only 2 days 1 night there so I engaged a private tour. My guide, David is very knowledgeable as he shared history of the various lakes, towns and off the beaten track area that we visited. Allow him to lead and he will bring you to the best places. I really enjoy my tour of Lake District and plan to return again with a longer stay. I recommend a visit George Fisher shoe shop (I got a pair of very good shoe there) and the Grasmere famous gingerbread shop (I am not a fan of gingerbread cookies but theirs is so special). And do consider to visit the stone ridge which predated as far back as the Stonehenge. I will recommend at least 2 nights stay.

I’m really glad I took this tour. David is knowledgeable as he shared about each place that we visited. He is also nice to talk to, and I feel safe as a solo traveller. He also knows places that is not usually visited by tourist. David is very experience, I will certainly recommend to go with him.

This was a terrific experience! David has great knowledge of the Lakes Region, a pleasant personality and we thoroughly enjoyed our full day with him. David adjusted our itinerary based on sites we wanted to see and eliminated stops we had already visited. This was a very personalized tour and we had the opportunity to see gardens, waterfalls, and homes off the normal path. We had the opportunity to visit popular Wordsworth sites as well as less common sites. As seasoned travelers, we highly recommend this tour and tour group. Excellent!

The vehicle was immaculately clean and tidy and David was very helpful in arranging to meet. Would highly recommend.

David was simply fabulous! Knowledgeable and funny, flexible and accommodating, David treated us to some treasures of the Lakes off the beaten path. While the Lakes are simply beautiful, learning about the history of the area made our tour even more wonderful. I would hire David again in a minute!

We took the 6-hour private tour and it was an amazing experience. Our fun and friendly guide, David Brooks, is a local and very knowledgeable about the area. He was able to tailor the tour to our specific interests and still give us a very good general overview of the area. A 6-hour tour only give a small glimpse of this large area and we would love to come back to explore in more depth. Overall a wonderful day.
