What to expect
Trinity College
Trinity College was founded by Henry VIII in 1546. See Trinity College's famous Great Gate with its statue of Henry VIII and the adjacent rooms of Isaac Newton. NB. We do not go inside Trinity College.
St. John's College
St John's was founded in 1511 by Lady Margaret Beaufort, the mother of Henry VII and grandmother of Henry VIII. It has arguably the most striking gate house in Cambridge. NB. We do not go inside St John's College on the tour.
Great St Mary's Church (Church of England)
Great St Mary's is a parish church and the University church. A church has stood on the site since the 13th century. The present building was constructed mostly between 1478 to 1519. Two Kings helped with the cost, Richard III and Henry VII. Queen Elizabeth I addressed the University inside the church during her visit to Cambridge in 1564.
Eagle
One of Cambridge's oldest pubs, dating back to the 16th century. Famous for its 'RAF Bar" where young airmen in WWII wrote their squadron numbers on the ceiling. NB. we do not go inside the Eagle pub on the tour.
St Bene't's Church (Church of England)
The oldest church in the county of Cambridgeshire, dating back to the 11th century.
King's College
King's College Chapel is the unofficial symbol of Cambridge. It is world renowned for its magnificence and its choir. NB We do not go inside the Chapel on the tour. Anyone wishing to visit the Chapel can book one of our private tours. Alternatively, they can buy a ticket from the King's Shop opposite the college. Tickets cost £11 per adult.
Corpus Christi College
Founded in 1352 by the townspeople, Corpus Christi has the oldest college court in Cambridge.
